Texas tiny house?
I'd like to post a link to an unusual and very nicely done re-purposed '50 house trailer. I've been admiring it for a couple of years now and hope others will find it interesting as well. Now that I think about it, I may have posted this a while ago. Oh well. Jack http://freshome.com/2013/07/20/the-...

Very nice Dick. I guess I'd have to dub that "pipe art". Jack

Re: 1935 Chevy school bus
Hello All. I've been doing a little upkeep on Honeysuckle Rose these last few days in preparation for a long weekend camp out with a bunch of other bus nuts. When I built Honeysuckle Rose, I didn't think having a 120 volt recptacle on the outside was very important--besides, it would have looked bad...

Re: 1935 Chevy school bus
I HATE changing oil. Every vehicle I own has the oil filter stashed in some out of the way place where tools can't reach and hands can't get a good grip on the canister. :banghead: I did three on my back on the cold concrete oil changes today. Though I can't say I enjoyed the experience, I can say t...

Happy New Year All! What could possibly be better (for a bus nut like me) than being on the cover of "The Rolling Stones" magazine? ------------------------------------------------- THIS http://i1075.photobucket.com/albums/w435/oltrunt/BCM_Cover440_zpsuln5yxye.jpg Too much fun!

Re: 1935 Chevy school bus
Hey Tango. The original battery box on my bus was just to the left of the pilots seat and below the floor. Luckily, the Isuzu battery box was nearly perfectly lined up with the hole in the floor though the original box wouldn't accommodate the two group 31's it takes to start the diesel--just a litt...

Re: 1935 Chevy school bus
Hello All. Happy Holidays! As we like to do on non camping Sundays, we took off this morning for a short drive and Mickey D's take out to be enjoyed while watching the boats bob at the marina. The weather was clear and brisk and in the low 40's, but we were snug and warm inside Honeysuckle Rose. Aft...

Ha, Ha. Made me laugh---bombs away! I've never understood why little boys are taught to stand up at the toilet. The result is always stinky. I haven't read up on how a composting toilet works. How do you handle the waste if you don't mind explaining. Jack

Zip Folder
Hi Stuart, I just put together an article (with pics) describing the build of my bus and Toad and stored it in a zip folder in "Dropbox". Is there any simple way to go from Dropbox to Nomadicista? I realize that all of the same material is here already, but it might be fun for people to re...

"Either", it all and we all will be there soon enough, but in the mean time I'd like people to be able to see what I tried to share. Happily, I still had in my files the pics Photo F----er I mean B ucket managed to dispose of and I was able to replace the missing pics in my 11/18/15 post. ...

Re: Missing Photo's?
Hi Stuart. I noticed three photos missing from my 11/18/15, '35 Chevy post but just chalked it up to my ineptitude with all things computer--which it may still be. Ha! Jack

Re: 1935 Chevy school bus
Hello All. I think I figured out why the awning gave in to the wind on the Nevada trip. When the wind blows up under the awning where the awning attaches to the body, the pull on the material causes the retracting spring inside the roller tube to unwind. The more it unwinds the more sail area is cre...

Re: 1935 Chevy school bus
Hello All. Here are a few pics of our Thanksgiving camp out in the local mtns. Once the sun went down the temperature dropped into the thirties from the mid sixties in the day. While were snug as bugs in a rug once we went to bed, it was nice to have a small box heater to warm our toes while we watc...
