Re: 1935 Chevy school bus

Hello All. I've been busy rebuilding the old Duo Therm heater in my bus. I wrote it up on Tapatalk (phone app) but it won't post here so I've done a cut and paste job hoping I can get that to post. I haven't figured how to increase the font size at my end so it probably will require the reader to en...

Re: 1935 Chevy school bus

Hello All. I'm feeling all smug. I've had a check engine lamp glowing on my little bus for a year now. I talked to the local Isuzu dealer about it as soon as it came on and was told that it would cost $200 to scan for the problem and then we would go from there. The bus seemed to drive just fine tho...

Re: Tapatalk

Its an app on Android and i phones and probably others that lets you visit forums and post text and pictures. It is free and seems to work fine. I downloaded mine from the "play store" icon on my phone. Jack

Tapatalk

Has anyone been able to access Nomadicista.org via Tapatalk? Sure would be nice to be able to post from there especially since photobucket took all of us hostage a while back. Tapatalk is simple to use for both text and pics once you can get hooked up to the forum.

Thanks, Jack

Re: Trailer Build

Hi Stuart. Sounds like you will make good use of that long tongue. I tow a motorcycle pop up tent trailer behind my Morris and it too had a long tongue to facilitate its original use. Like you, I added a platform to the tongue which carries a mini frig and a 2500 watt generator and a spare tire. It ...

Re: Trailer Build

Looks like fun! It is probably just the angle of the pic but the trailer seems to have an extra long tongue. If so, it would take some careful loading to get 10 or 15% of the weight on the ball as needs to be the case to avoid sway. Jack

Re: 1935 Chevy school bus

Hello All. From the "its always easier to to do it right the first time" file----- I spent the day on my back under my bus draining the gas tank for the genny and modifying the fuel pick up line. Had I known 5 yrs ago what I now know about gasoline additives and their effect on non EPA app...

Re: Dusty's Bus

Thanks Dusty.I went through the pics several times and I'll say it again, you live in a beautiful place! If I read it right you said the FJ (they were called FJ s here) was 3 years old when you bought it. That would make it about 1981 at which time I was busy beating the stuffing out of a 10 year ol...

Re: 1935 Chevy school bus

Got Milk? Nope--but I've got a dealer level scanner for my little Isuzu powered bus! After discovering that the Isuzu dealers charge $200 per scan per code I freaked out and began looking for a dealer level scanner. After several false starts and a return of a non working scanner I now have a comple...

Re: 1935 Chevy school bus

Hello All. Thanks to the paint shaker 4 cyl diesel and the beat up roads. I am constantly finding stress fatigued brackets and such on my little skoolie. My sharp eyed wife spotted one of the under the front fender driving lamps hanging by its wiring when we pulled into our camp site Thursday evenin...

Re: 1935 Chevy school bus

Photobucket--WHA!, WHA!, I'm taking my marbles and going home. Along those same lines, I discovered that Isuzu (motive force in my bus) has a proprietary code scanner requiring a special Isuzu dealer only tool. Big bucks to have the dealer do a scan etc. Today I found and bought a used Isuzu IDII 2 ...

Re: 1935 Chevy school bus

Hey Stuart. I guess the photobucket ploy has just about wiped out photos on the Skoolie.net site. The site admin is talking about the possibility of a "one time fix" whatever that might mean. Do you have any suggestions? Pics are half the fun of this kind of site. I do, of course, have all...

Re: 1935 Chevy school bus

SC. photobucket is now holding us hostage for a $40 a month fee to post our pics on line. I am disinclined to pay the fee. We'll see. Jack
