Crown "Post Office" update
From busskids page: "Crown was also building highway post office trucks for use by postal contractors. Single- and tandem-axle versions, in 35- and 40-foot lengths, respectively, were built. These had the usual Crown front grafted onto a rectangular body" New info, 1966 Crown HPO (Highway ...

Crown "Post Office"
I ran across something interesting today. It is a Crown that was supposedly built for the Postal Service (to their specs) to be used as a mobile Post Office in sparsely populated areas. It has a raised roof full length, almost no windows, and a side door on each side at about the mid point of the bu...

All the old asphalt base coatings really only work on the places that don't matter and they are all pretty much obsolete now. A pretty good rule of thumb is that 98% of your roof leaks will be within 2% of your roof...

Captainkf, I have not yet built a bus but it looks good to me! I think whats really important is that it gives you what you want and need. I learn something and/or get ideas from every rolling home I see. For me a big part of the attraction to this lifestyle is that it is all about what makes you ha...

The Big Move
Mr. Sharkey,
Any news about your move?
Have you been able to put any balls down yet or are they still all up in the air?

Home grown wind power
What is the feasibility of modifying an automotive generator or alternator for use in a home built wind system? Is it cost effective? Anyone have any plans for electrical or mechanical (props etc.)? Any info will be appreciated.

Hi Dennis, Are you building the cabin in Maine or NY ? Yes I am still tossing around putting together some alternate housing plan, I just have not figured out yet what it will be. I will have to see how things play out after my knee surgury and I get moved back to the East coast. I am not considerin...

AZ Car carrier
First of all congratulations Mr. Sharkey that HE DID NOT SAY NO ! Keep your fingers and toes crossed, I guess that I am the eternal optimist. Just a fun picture. This "car hauler" was parked in front of 'BILLY-JACS SALOON" in Humboldt, AZ. I guess where there's a will there's a way. h...
