Hey Sharkey, there was one guy that swapped his rear end gears by changing his carrier. He went from a 4.88 to a 3.90.

Here's a link to his thread, on the Bustropolis forum:

Hey Sharkey and Larry,

I remember one free program, that one guy recommended (I can't remember which site though), called "Design Workshop Lite." It is free and you can down load the tutorial.

The link is: http://www.artifice.com/

I hope this helps.

Hi Spider, Thanks for the picture and, especially, for the information. I'm impressed on how you dealt with the problem about where to place the black water tank. As all Crown owners are aware, that putting in a decent sized black water tank is really a challenge. I, myself, was thinking of installi...

Hi HogCat,

I was wondering, if you've got more pictures of your Crown? I'm working on mine (at about the same speed as Sharkey :) ) and always like to get some new ideas.

I noticed that you've got PVs and a TV antenna, what other devices do you have to make your Crown into a home?

No problem. If you ever get a chance, you should go to Quartzsite. There are a lot of conversions with owners that would be glad to show you their pride and joy.

Good luck in your search.

IIRC, I think I saw one with a 427 chevy http://www.sellabus.com/alfaro_page2.html but, most of the time, I've seen them with diesels and allisons http://www.sellabus.com/ed_smith.html . I used to have a link to "Flxible Owners International" http://www.flxible.net/ (I was thinking of buyi...

As we used to say in the olden days; Right on. I used to have a copy of the "Mother Earth News" in question but, I lost all copies on one of my military moves  I also lost my colection of Foxfire books in the same move. Robert BTW, GIs were also looking for a simpler life.

Hey Griff,

If you can get your hands on some old "Mother Earth News," there are plans for wind turbines. When I say old, I mean "Mother Earth News" from the 70s.

Sorry it took so lone to reply; I've been too busy moving to Houston (job transfer).

Hopefully, I'll be able to go next year (if I have enough cash for fuel) and I"ll see about bringing the Coronas.

I like Oregon and I look forward to going.

Hi everyone, I've been away for a while because I located to Houston. The insuurance I use is GMAC, through Good Sam. I also have Good Sam's road side assistance and it already paid for it self (Blew a tire on my trip). GMAC will insure a bus conversion but, will only provide liability. The rep told...

Hi Heartsong, I'm in the process of converting a bus and I chose a school bus (or Skoolie). I also have limited funds and didn't spend that much on reading materials and got most of my information on line. I am presently with four active groups that are dedicated to Skoolies and I've gotten most of ...

Hi J.B.,

Sorry I couldn't join you, it would have made it another Crown at the convention.

Well, maybe next year.

Don't worry Sharkey, it looks like all of the other conversion forums are going through the same thing. It must be that everyone is travelling. You know, seasonal migration. :)
