Re: 1955 Chevy 6700 Bus RV

I noticed this site went down, I’m glad it’s back. I did a bit of camping out of my conversion van this summer, and went to the lake cabin in Montana for a couple weeks in July. I’m keeping busy at my day job and work on the bus when I have time. I have the conversion van up for sale, but keep on us...

Re: somewhereinUSA build

There is a fix in the form of a web browser add on:
Chome:
https://chrome.google.com/webstore/deta ... aedg?hl=en

Firefox:
https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefo ... ucket-fix/

I haven't tried it, but I found the links on another forum.

Re: 1955 Chevy 6700 Bus RV

There doesn't seem to be much traffic on this site, I'm o.k. with that. I have decided to post the images that describe how I troubleshot the turn signal circuit in the bus. The thumbnail's are small but link to the image hosting site. https://s20.postimg.cc/4u3glhzy1/Turn_Signal1.jpg https://s20.po...

Re: 1955 Chevy 6700 Bus RV

I have had some free time during the holidays to work on the bus. I was thinking about how I could safely test the propane system. I read that I could use air to pressurize the system to about 4# and see if it remained pressurized for a day. I started gathering the gauge and pump and thinking about ...

Re: 1955 Chevy 6700 Bus RV

I got a call this Tuesday from the truck shop. They didn’t want to work on it anymore, said it stops, starts, and moves. Wednesday morning I drove it home. They had it for almost 2 years and there is 3 pages of receipt. They went through the brake system, that was the main reason I needed a big truc...

Re: 1955 Chevy 6700 Bus RV

I called a local truck repair shop and told them what I have. They scheduled an appointment for me to drop it off the next week. This was to be the first time I would drive the bus, so I was a bit anxious. I wanted everything to go smoothly so I added some gas. I had been starting it every week for ...

Re: 1955 Chevy 6700 Bus RV

After only a week I found the one. http://i93.photobucket.com/albums/l44/vogelelectronics/55%20Chevy%206700_zps1cimi1fx.jpg I couldn’t believe it. This was perfect. It did not have the windshield or the double headlights like the ’58. It did have 6 ½ feet headroom so I can live with that, and conver...

Re: 1955 Chevy 6700 Bus RV

I decided to change my search criteria. A short bus seemed like a good idea, and I wasn’t happy about the headroom in my previous Viking, so a raised roof would be required. http://i93.photobucket.com/albums/l44/vogelelectronics/57%20shorty_zpszdk9ndta.jpg This bus looks like a good candidate, but w...

Re: 1955 Chevy 6700 Bus RV

They found someone who wanted to live in it and drove it off, but for a few days I was expecting to get a bill from the impound yard. I continued to look on the internet and found what I wanted after only One month. http://i93.photobucket.com/albums/l44/vogelelectronics/58%20Viking_zpsyqqp59jh.jpg T...

Re: 1955 Chevy 6700 Bus RV

Thanks for the welcome! I have started to document my story, more pictures of the bus to come as I get to working on it. https://s20.postimg.org/r07rilpel/WP_20150426_019.jpg This is a 1955 Kenworth Pacific Bus that I had for about Five years. I purchased it along with a camping club membership and ...

1955 Chevy 6700 Bus RV

https://s20.postimg.org/r07rig4sd/1955_Chevy_Short_Bus_RV_Motorhome_Camper_1.jpg This is my recent acquisition, a 1955 Chevy 6700 Bus that was converted to RV. The conversion was done in the '80's maybe. I found this website when I was researching Bus conversion Insurance. This is my first post and...
