I'm planning to thermostat them. New US145's were in the car when I bought it and I got 50 miles of 30 mph level driving (not how I use it daily on my work commute).

Well, finally broke down today and plunked down $2300 for 18 new US145 6v/260Ah batteries. That's $500 more than 3 yrs ago but down $1300 from a few months ago. did this problem ever get resolved? I had a similar problem caused by a fault in on of the interlock subsystems..have to search my records. I managed to drive around anyway by slipping the clutch.

We have Sam's around here so I'll check out their battery specs. 12v batteries seem to have a better energy/price ratio than 6v so I might consider using them.
