Very inspiring story Roger. I got see the exhibit at the museum just as I was finishing my skoolie. You have been a huge inspiration in our quest to break free from the conventional lifestyle. It is encouraging to see people getting by on there own creativity and not having to be a slave to some McJ...

We made it threw the winter and temps are warming up. With the nicer weather we have been able to finish the wood work on the inside of the bus and get the outside painted. Wired in charge controller and inverter under the buss's control panel. The original battery compartment is just under the inve...

Have you talked to this guy? http://newyork.craigslist.org/que/ctd/1754411014.html The mileage is a little high but at that price you would have money left for repairs if needed. At 250k miles the engine should still be in very good shape. Steering and suspension would be the things to look closely ...

That looks like a pretty nice rig Dennis. I also have to agree that you want a diesel. My shed truck has a 460 with a 4-spd. It has LOTS of power but gets terrible mileage. My daily driver has the 7.3l powerstroke. The 7.3l could out pull the 460 and it gets twice the mileage. Be sure to get somethi...

Ginger, bus windows don't do much to hold out the elements. They are single paned and don't seal very well. I get most of my draft from either side of the window. The top and bottom seal pretty well. You will see how yours are sealed when you pull the ones you have to pull. I used some of that winte...

Oh yeah, those pictures you posted of the fuel hoses are injector retrurn lines. If those are the ones that are leaking they may be old and deteriorating. A good injection shop should be able to get some new lines for you.

Paneling the sides is a lot of work but you will be glad you got the old bus windows out of there. I removede the bus windows only in the back half of my bus. The front half I wanted to keep some of the bus feel so I left the bus windows in. What is the bus feel I was hanging on to? DRAFTY! COLD!

Nice score! That gets me thinking. I am just wrapping up and have few things I'm not going to use. If you are still in the planning stages maybe you could use some of it. I have to come to Prineville in the next day or two and could bring it by. I'll go snap some pics and drop you a PM with my phone...
