Re: Our NZ housetruck build thread...

Its alright Stu. Look under the fridge. If things ever get lost they usually get sucked under the fridge. Or behind the oven. Whichever is heaviest.. Yeah there is much logging activity about Nelson. Has been for years. One day when we - if we- can afford to buy a little block of land we'll make sur...

Re: Too much time, too much $$$ and no sense

Wow- fantastic. I'd roll around in that. After having spent 2.5 years living in a small transit van to me that looks big enough. You would just have to learn to live with less and make sure every thing you own is tapered.... :) What a boring world it would be if we didn't have people creating things...

We have a beautiful bird sanctuary here with amazing hiking through ancient forests. There are a few people living here year round. Mainly old buses and a fe...

i had discovered the old forum quite late and hadn't had a decent look about it yet. I'm glad stu has stepped up to take the reins. Cheers sharky for the efforts so far. Keep the very helpful info coming! It has always surprised me at the lack of forums dedicated to building and living in, housetruc...

Lostranger- cheers for the compliments. Yep- as Stu said the NZ height limit is 4.25 m (14'). We built ours to 4.2 but as the truck got heavier it settled and is now about 4.15. Most roads, bridges, tunnels in NZ, at least the ones we will use, are designed to allows a rear overhang of 70% of the wh...

Thanks very much guys. I must now take time to chill out. Also I will pop by the chat room here and talk buses and trucks, now that we finally are 'on the road' :) One thing that is really cool is discovering the truck only weighs in at 8.5 tonne plus that it will return 12.5 MPG. I don't think that...

We are now finishing little jobs off before we move to Nelson to start that horrible 'work' thing. We have found a nice place to...
