Tragically, the sill plate and one of the floor joists have serious dry rot. Most of wood is good however, but there's no way to replace the bad boards without complete disassembly of the loft. At least it will give me a chance to install the brass porthole windows I found a few months back. http://...

The water damage in the Cab Over Loft was worse than I thought. The way it was constructed means I'll have to remove the sheet metal to replace the rotten boards. I guess nows the time for any redesigns. Heres the pic: http://i802.photobucket.com/albums/yy308/IMPIOVS/100_1177.jpg Cedar paneling care...

For me. there's only one place that feels like home: 1947 Reo Safety Schoolbus Conversion Lived in it since I was six! (Now I'm 26) This is it, no more buses for me, I'll just keep sinking all my money into this one inanimate object until someday it's perfect. My four year old son loves it, someday ...

That budget paint plan sounds like just the ticket! Wish I'd gotten that done before this winter. On the bright side, I got my firewood in this weekend! Feels good to have a couple cords of oak neatly stacked under the bus. And my new plates came in, never have to register the ol' girl again! Perman...

Saw this scissor lift truck downtown the other day. Wouldn't it make for a great mobile tree fort?

Work-trade anyone?
Hello everyone, I notice there are a lot of us busfolk here in Oregon and I know we all have a to-do list a mile long. I'm curious if anyone would be interested in arranging a little work trade- winter's a-coming and its time to batten down the hatches. Specifically I'm looking to trade my strong ba...

As promised, here are some more pics of my beloved bus and a little more info. The bus is a 1947 Reo Safetybus, the engine has been upgraded to a 1952 Reo Gold Comet OA-292, straight six. The roof has been raised and of course, there's the lovely cab-over loft. I've been living in this thing off and...

I would love to find out more about her history, I found the owner my folks bought it from, but he only owned it a couple of years. Here are a couple more pics, too bad Google Docs will only let me post the link, I'll make a Tinypic account this week end. Interior and Exterior: https://docs.google.c...

63 year old housebus back on the road!
Hi everyone, thought I'd log on and share a bus success story. Magdalene is a 1947 REO bus conversion and my childhood home. My parents bought it in the 80s and never drove it. The interior is all wood and cozy. A couple of years ago I bought it and towed it out to a farm for my family to live in. W...
