inspection

Thanks Sharkey, I love your site. I have these two buses that I'm interested, but before putting thousands of dollars down on something this important I want to make sure that it isn't going to break down and cost me a fortune in a couple months. I would like to hire a knowledgable bus mechanic to i...

it's not the heat it's the humidity

I grew up in Wisconsin, and now live in Minneapolis. It can get pretty hot in the summer high 80s-100, but what they say about the humidity is true. Some days it's almost unbearable. Today however it's very comfortable. Overcast, 70 degrees and a nice breeze. Wisconsin is beautiful in the summertime...

bluebird coach

I saw a very interesting conversion yesterday. It's a 1996 bluebird that was once an airport shuttle, but has since been fully converted (bathroom, kitchen, 110v system). It isn't like a school bus body at all, much more like a coach. It's got 220K miles on it, but my guess is that 200 of those are ...

thanks

thanks guys, I've been researching for the past 6 months or so, and the consensus definitely seems to be that the Cummins is the best, but I've also heard good things about the DT466. I passed on the yellow bus. The auction ended today at $2,000. A good price, but I decided that the Blue Bluebird wo...

the search continues

So the green one was a total bust. After a nice night of camping in Green Lake, WI we went to check it out, only to find out that the seller had mucked up one of the brake lines the night before by accident. So we couldn't even take it for a test drive. The rust on the rear and sides was significant...

thanks

Thank you all for the helpful input, and excellent bus pictures. We checked out the bus in Menomonee, but decided that it was too rusty, and weren't thrilled with several aspects of the conversion that had been started. However, the guy selling it was really nice, and let me drive it. It was my firs...

what am I doing?!?

Hey everyone, I don't know if I've introduced myself here yet, but I've been lurking. I greatly prefer MrSharkey to the other bus conversion forums that I've encountered online. Everyone here just seems to be... cooler. I'm planning a school bus conversion that I will full-time in with a friend of m...
