Oklahoma earthquake

Here is a very bizarre thing. I live most of the time in Norman, OK (south OKC) and the rest of the time in Broken Arrow, OK (Tulsa). There was an earthquake (5.1 or so) this morning - the second largest we have ever had. Small compared to here in Los Angeles. The center was in Norman and it shook s...

Dualfuel, The modified sine wave may not effect the timer as much as the motors. The "noise" on the wave form is in the form of high voltage spikes at the 'switch' points of the semiconductor devices that drive the output. This can be as much as 2 or 3 times the nominal output voltage. (At...

Yummm!! I love corn nuts! I grew a few stalks of hickory king this year to get some seed, and have a handful of ears for planting next year - trying for a large batch to use! It is great corn! It grows very tall. The stalks I had were all around 10 to 11 feet tall. Cool novelty look. Also used to ma...

I like the schedule idea. Will try to catch it next Sunday, if I can - usually a nice 'quiet' time. Have missed the last two weeks due to travel.

Will check in again.

I was remiss in mentioning firearms for protection without one very important caveat. A dog can be a great security addition. Caveat; One must FIRST before any other consideration when thinking about a firearm is to decide whether you are willing and able to point the thing at someone and fire it to...

Tire chains

Seems like a few of us live in areas where snow/ice, etc are a concern and tire chains are at least occasionally of interest. I have them for my pickup, but haven't needed them for the bus yet (hopefully soon!) As part of the adventure, I ran across this little item that just looks very cool. Watch ...

I like Sharkey's idea. People look for the next new interest and then just "do it to death". Sturgis used to be a quaint little 25,000 people get together to have bike hill races, bike drag races, and bike demolition derby. Good stuff. Now, 500,000 per year - it just loses everything in th...

Sounds like we got the "Anti-Burning Man Non-Festival" as a new destination - maybe next year!! This could be big! Maybe a "Vintage Vacations", Craig Dorsey style festival with house trucks and buses instead of vintage trailers... Or maybe we can just keep getting together here a...

Almost forgot - if you are going to raise the roof, make sure to keep it under 13' 6" so you don't have to get oversize permits. And make sure you know exactly what the final as-built to keep an eye on low bridge overpasses so you don't hit one. There is a truckers atlas available at truck stop...

We have been having some wonderful pre-fall days here. Temperatures down into the high 90's with humidity only about 80%!! What a relief!!!!!

Today is even cooler with rain (88 and 90%). Yeah!!! Fall is here!!!

Next step is that I will be bitchin' about winter being too cold!

Rudy pretty well covered it. Good stuff there. As for security, Texas is a concealed carry state and that is something you might want to consider. Your bus is your home, so you are allowed to have a firearm to protect yourself. The only squirmy area where there is possibility of hassle is while movi...

Now that is sacrilege!! Even though I love the idea of conversions, there must be limits. And the 1965 Buick goes too far!
