Singles Site

With the recent talk of food rolling over to the need for a singles/dating/matchmaking site for house truckers/bus dwellers I thought that perhaps I could look into setting one up and have had a brief look at some of the available software for it. What kind of interest do you think it would get? Wha...

Rudy, Your photo's are loading fine on my computer. Rather than trying to network your mac and pc together, which will probably be quite difficult given they both speak different languages. May I suggest down loading a free word processing program to your pc, such as Open Office, which you can find ...

The fire hazard with hay bails is real if they have much moisture content in them.

Can you say spontaneous combustion?

This next one is a self charging light that has a crank to supply the power. No batteries in this thing. Just crank it up until your arm is sore,(usually 5 or 6 minutes) and you'll get up to 40 minutes of light. It has three rows of LEDs on top. You can use all three or just one row. It has an AM a...

I can definitely relate to not wanting to up the hp in a given engine. I once had about an eight inch hole blown out both sides of the block, of a cat C12 in an old Kenworth. It was rated at about 435hp if my memory serves correctly, but the mechanic who was sent out to try and get me back on the ro...

Mark, what sort of HP are these engines putting out at the axle? When I was driving trucks I found 420/430hp fine if I wasn't doing much hill work, but when doing long runs with plenty of mountain work I didn't like anything less than 500hp. That was also pulling around 44 metric ton though and work...

Rudy, The reason there are so many Bedfords in NZ, Aussie and Pakistan is that they are a British vehicle and as former British colonies and current members of the British Commonwealth, we got all of the british made rubbish for years. The Bedfords do look cool though. ps. Just received your CD toda...

Kiwi makes a flying visit to America in B class motor home

Okay, I have written a brief travelog of my recent trip to America at http://www.nomadichome.com/blog/ I haven't added any photo's of it yet. I still have to sort through the 797 that I took, but I will get some in there, at some point.

Front wheel, driver's side. http://i36.tinypic.com/dxfp1z.jpg The kingpin would be what holds the wheel to the axle, right? I know that on cars, you jack them up and wiggle top and bottom to check looseness. I'm gonna have to get Big Boy Wrenches to work on this thing! You also want to jack it up t...

Mr Sharkey,
I will certainly be writing about my trip. It will probably be a while before I do, but I promise to do so.

Rudy,
I look forward with anticipation.

As usual with my reply with any topic, I will wonder off topic. Apologies in advance. I have just returned from a couple of weeks in a camper in the States, so have only just caught up with this thread. In regards to where you should be driving on your lane of the road, you don't want to head to eit...

It looks like these buses would be like living in a mobile hotel. All of that bling probably looks nice on first appearance, but I agree with you Rudy, in that it would be a sterile environment to live in. Which incidentally is how I find hotels to be.

Way back in the early part of this thread I asked if anyone knew of a free web site to share music that they have created. Tonight I found one that will let you list/share four songs for free, or 35 songs for a fee. Since I am cheap and wanted free, I set up a free account. The sound quality sounds ...
