Re: 1935 Chevy school bus
Hello All. Just about out of town when a California unlicenced, uninsured soccor mom 39 years of age ran into my legally parked toad. Cops took her soccor van. Repair estimate at the body shop $3640. It's the little chunk of wood taken out of the rear pillar that is causing the most trouble. Now I g...

Re: 1935 Chevy school bus
Howdy "Sprout" glad to see you here. I'm not computer savvy enough to guess how you found me here but glad for a new arrival. Tango, I'll try to post a couple of pics here using Postimmage now that photobucket --kicked the bucket so to speak. Oh, and I was allowed to release the crows so t...

Re: 1935 Chevy school bus
Hello All. Wifey and I are heading to the great outdoors! Big deal, one day er, ah. She has been very busy with her art gallery and time away is hard to come by. We'll only be going to a fairly local County camp ground, one which I was unable to get reservations for using their 30 day in advance pol...

Re: 1935 Chevy school bus
Mine has an adjustment for the sector shaft located on the mounting side if the box but nothing for the input shaft. I'd recommend waiting to make any adjustments until you have powered up the unit and worked the air out of it. Jack

Re: 1935 Chevy school bus
SC. Travel trailer at 26 degrees? Thats gotta suck!
"Geez...just looking at that...how old do ya have to be to stop talking about 'years' and start referring to 'decades'...?"
I've long since quit talking about decades--sometimes I question buying green bananas! Jack

Re: 1935 Chevy school bus
SC, I'd rush on down to Sears and sawbucks and take them up on their offer before they close down--science be damned when there is something new for free! Jack

Re: 1935 Chevy school bus
Hey SC, I'd be the first to admit I don't know what I'mm talking about when it comes to gas additives. I went with Sta-bil because it was available I guess. Of course I'll never know if it really works because I have marked my calendar with monthly start/run cycles thereby taking all the science out...

Re: 1935 Chevy school bus
Hello All, busy at the typewriter. Well, I learned a lesson—but not without considerable pain to reinforce it. Gasoline really does go bad. A year ago I replaced the Yamaha ef3000iseb genny in my bus with a brand new model of the same ilk. Same rip snorting electron pushing device I had but with all...

Re: 1935 Chevy school bus
Hello All. Today's ramblings come from the "can't leave stuff alone" file. :screwy: A short while ago I was crowing about finding a new gas valve for my bus heater. I no sooner finished that up when the gas valve on the wall heater in out “granny flat” failed (or at least so I thought at t...

Hey Tango. Dextron III is what my service manual recommends. It also recommends burping the system with the front wheels off the ground. Jack

Re: 1935 Chevy school bus
Thanks Tango. I've always wanted a '57 tbird but could never afford one so when this '03 retrobird showed up real cheap at a tow yard lien sale I snapped it up. The fins, tail lamps and head lamps are all '57 parts I hacked on. The white walls are made by a specialty tire company near me. They "...
