This probably deserves a topic of it's own, but I'll post here for brevity. Exaust Brakes: Exhaust brakes are nothing much more complicated than a throttle butterfly plate in the engine exhaust pipe. The one on my bus is just after the turbo and actuated by a pneumatic cylinder. The air supply to th...

Left sitting, you can expect your bus to gradually lose pressure...

For that, go read the Slack Adjusters document.Rudy wrote:I will read that Bendix brake manual. I suspect it will mention adjustment of brakes as well

Spring brakes? I have air brakes. No, you have air-actuated spring brakes. In order to understand how air brakes work, you should go download the Bendix Air Brake Handbook and read through it. Your rear brakes have two cannisters nested one on top of the other, one pair each at the ends of the rear...

Rudy, if those batteries havn't been charged in two years, do yourself a favor and haul them to a recycler and get rid of them. Expect to be paid $4-8 apiece for them, maybe more, depending on commodity prices. Dead lead acid batteries will ~never~ recover from such abuse. Any apprent revival will b...

Hey, I wonder why some of my photos are missing off of here? They were posted through Tinypic so they should still be there since the others are :screwy: Yeah, HA, you think so? I don't know what the Tinypic policy is on image life, but I can tell you that it's not limitless. It's even more embaras...
