man, I don't know, I might need to have one made. This one is cracked in half. It still fits in place but would be better replaced, or maybe welded? I heard welding cast iron is tricky. Other then those few things, It's actually in pretty good shape. Maybe a little big for a bus? Just don't rage it!

Yeah, this one might work as is, but it really wants to be took apart, cleaned up and new caulk/cement stuff added. I'm not really sure where to get the stuff; I looked online, found some but I don't know which is best. I also need this kind of fire-proof sticky rope to use to make the doors seal go...

I like how the stove in the wagon is recessed, kinna cool. Maybe not as much radiation effect, but still cool. As to coal, I love the way it smells!!

Wood gas

A while back, while searching for bus conversion pictures, I found a picture of a bus in china with a large column of smoke coming out of some machine on the back. The caption said the vehicle was coal powered. I studied up on it and discovered that it ran on producer gas. This is a really cool way ...

I think I could get a couple sold for him; the librarys around here are pretty cool, I even found a copy of Roll Your Own in one of them! I could suggest they buy copy. I remember looking all over for old bus conversion books back in the day, maybe there are others on the search

Greg

Sharky,
In the Bus Barn you say most of the pictures are from Greg. I'm curious who this is and if maybe they have a huge cache of photos and should make a school bus conversion book?

Thanks! The guy at the table is about 15 or so @ the time, he wasn't drinking the Courvoisier- I promise!! I think as far as which bus to get (new or old),or with any factor, it all depends on what you want to do with it. For example, if you want to travel all over the country constantly, an older b...

Oddjob

I bought my bus"Oddjob" in 1999 in Clackamas, OR. at Western Bus sales. It was a 1960 Ford B-600, 292-v8, 4-spd w/ 2-spd rear-end, even had the sand switch to make sand come out in front of the drive wheels. The list price was $1400. As soon as I showed interest, however, the salesman said...
