The pirate radio station on the sail bus is a great idea. Mark has the equipment to broadcast over a small area, at least he did 12 yrs. ago. I would imagine he uses it at burning man. When a bunch of us bus people were camped in the desert, we just tuned in our radios to the "local" alter...

The boat is used for both sleeping in the bow, and hanging out in the cockpit while parked. The owner Mark told me the story of the day he took a sawzall to a perfectly good sailboat, in front of an onlooking crowd. When I last saw the sailbus in Phoenix, Az. Mark and some friends were molding foam ...

the sailbus

Hi Mark, As I recall the owner's name is Mark. It's been about 12 years since I've seen the sailbus in person. I have been in it and camped in the desert with this guy. The mast goes up when parked, and broadcasts pirate radio, all solar powered. There is just a small access hole in the roof to get ...

TJ, Sorry you missed out on the 58 Crown, sounds like you did some homework on the drive train...and yes, Crowns are built as a heavy duty truck...very durable! I have had two other buses in the past that I converted to live in and travel to shows. Crowns are a good way to go for the long haul. Good...

Hi everybody, my 58 Crown sold this morning to the first person that came to look at it. The lady lives right here on Vashon Island. To sweeten the deal, she wants to hire me to finish out the interior! I'm going to be a busy guy working on two buses at once, but what a pleasure to work on a couple ...

Hey Rudy, you sound like a long lost brother. I have lived in buses and on the road since the late 80's. I am currently caretaking a light house on Maury Island, but plan to move into my new bus when I get it cleaned up. The 66 Crown will be my 4th bus. I have learned alot over the years, but one ca...

Thanks for offering to help with the photos Rudy, I'm not sure why that link doesn't work, as it's the correct address. I am short on time right now, but I can work on uploading some photos off my computer tomorrow. Thanks again dburt, I will keep you posted. I really don't think Wayne would have sc...

Hi Rudy, come on back to Ballard...it's a great place! Yes, I will be doing extensive work on the interior of the 66 Crown. It is pretty worn out. I was really drawn to the high roof 7ft. (I am 6'2'') and will be living in the coach full time when I am done with the interior. I was also drawn by the...

1958 Crown for sale

Hello all, I am reluctantly parting with my sweet 1958 Crown schoolie for 5K OBO. It has 80k original miles that can be verified by the log book kept on the bus. The 262 turbo Cummins was rebuilt 6K miles ago and runs like a champ. The bus was garage kept by the Baptist church camp here on Vashon. T...

66 crown conversion

Hi Brant, I appreciate your insight for ideas on this coach. I just drove it back to Seattle from Eastern Oregon...it runs like a champ, and that 10 speed sure is sweet!(70-75mph with ease). The airbags are in great shape, tires very good, engine is strong. The bus is NOT an intercity coach, it was b...

right you are dburt...justice is near impossible to find in the "injustice" court system. I have had to deal with the family court system over custody of my son up here in Wa. state for the past seven years! The level of bias and corruption is beyond words. Hang in there with your case Sha...

1966 crown

I called Wayne this morning, he has no new leads on the title, other than it was titled in Wa., so I will go to licensing dept. here for more info. I have restored/converted 2 old buses in the past, and would love to put this beauty back on the road again! Thanks again dburt for the heads up on this...
