Monster Garage (Jesse James TV show) did the bus to pontoon boat conversion as one of its shows. Don't think it will be stable enough for the trip.

Batteries

Has anyone had experience with Condorde Batteries in solar system? They make an AGM series called Sun Xtender.

Just off the top, they just sound expensive, but maybe worth the money??

I guess they are real, then?

Ok, now I have to go to New Zealand. Went to Voodoo donuts over Christmas last year, so now we have the next destination.

Are there any cruise ships that go there that could take my bus??

Two cars and a Dodge pickup. Ford 4.6L w/ 230,000 miles. 70 Cutlass w/ 260,000 miles. Ram Diesel w/ 230,000 miles. When all my engines were young, I used to run straight weights, but since so much older, and straight getting so hard to find around here, I just use 10-30 or 10-40. I think I know the ...

DF, I was trying to say that I wouldn't use 10W hydraulic oil for the life of the engine, but I guess it came out as 10W motor oil... 10W is great as a motor oil. I use Valvoline in the cars and Delvac in the trucks. Have thought about just going to Delvac across the board. Do you know any reason NO...

10W is what it is said to be. That would be the same as 10W motor oil. (10-40W is really just 10W. It doesn't get thicker when it gets hot - thinner if anything, so there never really is 40W involved. The oil can just cover applications that would require 40.) I sure wouldn't use it for the life of ...

It will work - at least temporarily. I wouldn't use a mineral oil based hydraulic fluid. About the only thing missing would be the detergent additives and if it is for short term, who cares? The other way around, I would recommend avoiding - engine oil in hydraulic system. The detergents - foam and ...

Been hot here. Just trying to keep the garden from going away completely. Didn't work. Did get 8 bushels of sweet corn before burning up. Very good stuff. Should last most of the year with just 2 of us eating on it. And I ain't sharing with family, either! (Bad Dad/Grandpa...) 4 Weeks of 105 to 108 ...

It's all good. Haven't had time to even get back here as often as I would like. Garden has started coming in this week and have picked/processed about 3 bushels of sweet corn. Work all week, then work all weekend. It's still a great life! There are 300 tomato plants that are in various stages of dis...

Ok, I will start a topic (another one) in an effort to post as requested. This is a "tale of woe" litany, that looking at it all in one place makes life look like a country and western song! No worries, not looking for any sympathy; all the characters and main players are doing fine, but t...

How did the smoke stacks change sides on the last two pictures. One looks like it is on driver side, last one looks like on passenger side. Originally I thought the image had been reversed, but the front tag isn't reversed on one of them.

What kind of magic is this??

Maybe in the middle??

Winter was a mess here. We had very cold - worst in a long time - decades. We got about 36" - maybe a little more - cumulative total. Christmas eve was 16" in OKC and about 14 in Tulsa. That is usually reserved for our March snowstorm. Weird weather. Today was only about 96, but the dew po...
