Updates on the 1951 White Super Power school bus in SE Ore

I went out to my friend Brian's place who owns the old 1951 White Super power school bus and took some more pictures, and found out that he would like to ask $2,500 for the bus and might??? leave the front bumper on it for the right deal? And- if the right person came along with the right old truck ...

Sharkey- have you ever tried a couple of cats around the place to help keep the mice down? Sometimes cats aren't everyone's favorite pet to have around, but they do help keep the rodents under control. A side effect that is not all that helpful is that they also occasionally catch birds. We keep 2-4...

The fire truck appears to be a K series International Harvester. Maby a K-5 or even a K-7? It would have a large flathead 6-cylinder gas motor. Sweet old trucks!

Rudy- even tho the "bling buses" may not have alot of personal soul in them, they are still very interesting to see and for the rest of us to learn how you put it all together. I'm sure much of what you learn on the job and do for pay bleeds over into your own projects, which is somewhat l...

Rudy- my guess would be that the buses you do at the factory are alot about bling, and the buses you do for yourself are a bit more practical and, shall we say, more down to earth and user friendly. Now if you had a rock star ego, you too could add more bling to your own mobile dwelling! But then yo...

Great truck, pics and story! I always wanted to do such a truck out of a Uni-mog. May have to settle for a Deuce, although they don't get around as well as the smaller AWD such as the Uni-mogs and your brother's truck. Convery my thanks to your brother!

Let me know Sharkey if you find out where it is and who owns it now. I would like to go and see it in person, maby get some pics and an update on it's condition. Who knows, maby it would be for sale too? The question about the engine intrigues me also, I would like to pull the head and see what the ...

I used to know where that bus was in a storage lot near the intersection of I-84 and highway 201. A couple of years ago they decided to redo the overpass and bridge at the interchange, and the bus and some other neat stuff disappeared. What an interesting story. I used to drive by and see the bus an...

Rudy, I sure like the old White school buses and trucks. They had that great grill, bumper and headlights. I don't know exactly what year this bus is, but Brian says he has a clean Oregon title for it. I wish I had the time and money to restore a bus like this but with a nice inline Cummins or an IH...

Old White Super Power School bus available in SE Oregon

This old White school bus belongs to a friend of mine in SE Oregon near Ontario. It was running in about 1980 when it developed a miss in the old flathead 6-cylinder engine (thought to be ignition related), and the owner at the time sold it to Brian my friend. He towed it home and there it has sat e...

Hey Hogcat, good pics! Thanks for posting them! Do you know anything about the GMC bus with the addition over the front? I would like to know what the "addition" came off of. Was it used for a bedroom area up front?

I love the good story about the gym and whistle blowing during the games. I was a jokester when I was a kid, I loved pulling off a good practical joke. Like clear plastic food wrap under the toilet seats in the locker room restroom. Or a thin film of vaseline on the toilet seats. Baby oil on doorkno...

Rudy, it looks like you have two roof A/C units, correct? Of course it can get hot and humid in the south during the summer months, so you need both units I suppose. So what is next, the exterior? Paint? Fancy Paint? I am looking forward to you adding the bling to the old girl!
