That doesn't look too short.

The only real concern is to make sure you are secure to the frame of the bus and not just the bumper. The bumper is pretty stout but at the end of the day it is only stamped steel.

The one other concern I would have is what sort of effort is it going to take to open the hoood? With all of the pieces made of steel I would venture a guess that it isn't going to be light.
