Re: Different Wisdom

Those biscuits look YUMMY! I would imagine a little butter and honey or some country gravy with sausage would taste pretty good on those biscuits. Less restrictive sounds good to me. And so what if it doesn't have a catalyst in it. How many miles are you going to be driving that bus in the next ten ...

Re: Different Wisdom

That is quite the expanse of white!

It seems a shame to have to cut into it in order to put in some windows.

Re: Different Wisdom

The 8-bag system would tend to make a pretty stable platform. Lowering it all the way down every time would make it pretty solid. I can also appreciate the shorter step in and out. The older I get the less I want to have to stretch to go up and down steps. The fact you have a relatively small sail a...

Re: Tiny house on a trailer

Two 7K axles should be big enough to carry that load. Even with the batteries and plumbingI up front I would think the extra frontal area at the back of the trailer is going to cause bad trailer manners. From your posts I get the impression you don't intend to be towing the tiny house on a trailer a...

Re: Tiny house on a trailer

This looks like a really nice build. My only concern has to do with weight. With the upper story behind the axles won't it unload the tongue creating "tail wagging the dog" symptoms while going down the road? Also, you aren't using really light materials. Will the current axles and tires h...

Re: Different Wisdom

In almost every picture I see of your bus it would appear as if the suspension is always down. Does your air system bleed off that quickly or do you purposely dump the air out of the suspension? What do you do to stabilze/level the bus when parking? On another forum one convertor installed what look...

Re: Different Wisdom

Good as in what doesn't kill you makes you stronger? :)

What exactly is your Vanner doing or not doing? They are pretty fool proof and really don't break very often.

Re: Different Wisdom

It is no fun to be out on the road and having issues. The upside for you is you don't have to look for a motel room for the night at the end of the day. Vanner units are great until they stop working. In my experience run next to forever without ever having a hiccup and then one day HICCUP! When tha...

Re: 13 fun steps to a skoolie and a toad!

What an absolutely faboulous conversion! In my wildest dreams I couldn't have dreamed up what you have created. Somewhere along the way I must have missed the cutting a hole in the roof for a pop-up section. Having natural light coming down inside from that will more than make up for the light lost ...

Re: 1935 Chevy school bus

I have been following your progress since the start. I am absolutely amazed at what the end product has become. In my wildest imagination I could never have dreamed up what you have created. And even if my fevered brain did conjour up something like that my skill set would never have allowed me to c...

Re: Different Wisdom

My concern would be in regards to dissimilar metals. Even Crown has issues over the years with dissimilar metals. I think using something like Sikaflex would help with the issue. The big problem is in the attaching fasterners. If you have a steel frame and aluminum skin or any variation thereof, you...

Re: New here- 1986 P30

When you say you are having a problem replacing the sun roof--I am puzzled as to what you consider the sun roof. Many delivery vans had transluscent ceiling panels down the center of the truck to give teh driver natural light to see what was inside of the truck. Most were made out of lexan/plexiglas...

I would love to go over and help out. Or at least kibbitz about what you are doing.

The only problem is Winlock, WA is a bit far from where you are to just drop in and say hi. :)

Re: 1935 Chevy school bus

Impressive you were able to get windows to fit from HD. I have found it difficult to find anyone who knows anything about anything in our local HD. Nice look. With the windows in you must be almost in sight of everything put together. I can hardly wait to see it after it has come out of the paint sh...

Re: Newest house truck by Michael Ostaski in New Mexico

Nice looking rig.

My concern is how much the conversion weighs.

While that chassis is a lot heavier duty than any E-350/450, G3500/4500, or Sprinter chassis, that isn't a class 8 truck with a 14,000 lb front axle and 30,000 lb rear axle.
