Hey Stuart, I just spent two hours building an update with about 30 photos, and when I hit preview, I got a message saying that it was an improper form. When I hit the back button, everything disappeared. Any idea what I did wrong?
Thanks,
Jim

Re: Why Are Many Modern Motorhomes So Damn Ugly...
I especially hate the current trend in paint schemes. I refer to them as the ubiquitous swoops, swirls and swooshes. Perhaps the first one was an attempt to be unique, but as John Hartford said so well long ago, "What's the difference being different when it's difference now that looks alike?&q...

Re: Different Wisdom
I'm wanting to build a new wood heater before next winter. I'd love to have a Kimberly, but the price puts them out of reach. I especially want secondary combustion. I've recently been studying rocket stoves, but I can't come up with a design that would work in a house bus, especially since we're no...

Re: Different Wisdom
I want it known that we have not died or dropped off the map. We've been so busy with other areas of life that it's been hard to get bus work done. I did get MOST of the wall and roof insulation done, and I got a couple of sheets of 1/4" oak plywood on the wall in the galley, but not much else ...

Re: Dusty's Bus
I also wanted one for my '63 Chevy step side. 250 ci straight six. My dad owned a muffler shop, so if I could have afforded a manifold, duals and cherry bombs would have been a cinch. My '62 GMC step side (it's demise led to the purchase of the '63) had duals, but it was a V6. 305D, to be exact. The...

Re: 1935 Chevy school bus
Brand does not matter and style of combustion (open flame or catalytic mesh) does not matter. The fuel is converted to water vapor as it burns. Only thing that does matter is style of venting. A heater vented to the outside does not deposit all its water vapor inside the living space.

Re: 1935 Chevy school bus
We lived with radiant propane through the early part of last winter. Nearly killed us. The problem is not heat but moisture. You can't believe how much water they put in the air. Took a wood stove to dry everything out. The problem is dramatically less in mild weather, but that's not what we were ha...

Light looks great, Dick. I love that you used red cedar. Right at home in a closet. I quit buying Craftsman electric tools thirty years ago after I burnt out three new circular saws in one day. Your tools, on the other hand, are from the day when a Craftsman electric tool was something to be proud o...

Happy We decided to play "lets pretend" and have our roast chicken dinner in the bus, in the quiet of the garage and watch a movie  :screwy:  Jack I like it! Since we eat most meals in the bus, it was a treat for us to go to youngest daughter's and eat in a house. The fact that ...

Furring is going more slowly than I would have hoped. Of course. I've run into a number of unforeseen details. Driver's side is almost done. Some progress on passenger side. Balance of wall insulation is all square cuts and only two layers. Should not take as long as three layer roof with radius cut...
