Brrrrr....cold!

I vote for that color. Very cool.

I have been planning psychadelic all along for mine, but have seen some cars recently painted a light green - kind of a 1950's "Sea Mist" green that I am really starting to like.

Too many decisions for this old brain!

Back about 6 or 7 years ago, Eagle Picher made a "Horizon" battery that was a wonderful AGM solution. It was about 5" x 5" x 36" and would fit in very small (but longer) spaces. Can't remember capacity, but it was over 100 AH, if memory serves. Expensive, but very nice. Ther...

I want a bookmobile!! Over 90% of the batteries are made by one company - Johnson Controls. Exide, Interstate, Batteries Plus, Duralast (AutoZone), Costco, WalMart, and Sam's club, Optima (too small capacity for me), plus many others (Sears DieHard)....made in USA, it is likely JCI. Except Lifeline....

Sister in law in east Tennessee always has a collection of "porch hounds" - dogs that have been dumped by owners out in the country, so they can "get back to nature". At one time there were several medium to large, including a beautiful black and tan hound. Behind the house, up o...

We were getting 98's for about two weeks, then cooled off for last couple of weeks. Looks like we are getting ready to go back to summer. Today was 97 and 70%. Not great, but not too bad.

All the more reason to go solar - keep the gendarmes from being able to track one's activities by power useage. Got up this morning and at 7:25 before leaving the house to go to work, the weather man said it was 78 with 100% humidity. Now it is 90 with 80%. Heat index of 104 (contrived deal). Suppos...

Heat wave

The northeast has been getting a dose of our kind of weather. Saw a news report that said Newark, NJ had suffered through 4 consecutive days of 100 degree temperatures. Just about laughed my ass off. We have been having NJ weather for a few weeks. Very nice. Looks like it ends today. 93 to 96 for ne...

Calculus is one of those things that you do when you are into REALLY heavy self-abuse, but too feeble physically to beat yourself with large logs everyday or go duck hunting. Since I am old now, the logs are out. Can still duck hunt, but sometimes that just isn't enough! I always thought they were l...

That is one cute little horse!

I have wanted to get a couple of draft horses to have for working around the farm. Would have to get some horse drawn equipment, though. And the farm.... am looking.

Also, there are always sled pulls at the local state fair that look like incredible fun.

Education anyone?

I ran across this a couple years ago and have looked in from time to time. It is MIT (yes, THE MIT) where you can look at topics of interest and essentially get access to many courses for free. There are varying degrees of information including lecture notes, assignments, tests, and video lectures (...

'57 Caddy El Dorado had an air suspension that would pump up kind of like that and raise the car like it was coming back from the dead. Also strange. Friend told me today that he just bought a 1/2 ton trailer from that govliquidation site. He is not sure what to expect, but it is in Okla City and he...

I have been reading some RV travel magazines and there seems to be a lot of talk about tires from China exploding and tearing up trailers and motorhomes.

Depending on the species (like virginiana) the junipers may not even be native to the area. I am a certified, bona-fide, real life tree hugger. I love the things. I think they are arguably the human species best friend on the entire planet. And I cut them and use them. Burn them. Make "stuff&qu...

Okie-land only has scrub oak, a very few pines (many being killed by beetles) and in southern part of state, only two kinds of tree; Cottonwood and Dead cottonwood. Ok, I exaggerate. Eastern half of state has a pretty good variety, going on into Arkansas and Missouri. Just wish it hadn't turned off ...
