I can't help you with how many and where containers are in the U.S., but I have just stepped off a container ship about half an hour ago, at the end of my nights work.

What else would you like to know about containers?

Apologies for going off topic here, but what software are you using for recording? I just use the light version of cubase that came with my Lexicon Omega interface on a Macbook, which works okay for what I am doing at the moment, but would like to switch to Ubuntu Studio. I was dual booting between ...

Your idea sounds like a different approach to the same idea and I think would work better than magnets.

If you are going for the boat type approach, you could use the lift and slide system, where you need to lift the draw a quarter inch before it will slide, then there is no need for latches for your drawers. If you are not familiar with this system let me know and I will try to describe it in more de...

I really like the layout of that bus. It looks to be well thought out.

I've also added the blog to my blog's blog list.

My experience has been that the higher the drivers seat, the easier it is to know where you are on the road.

These days I drive container straddle carriers which have the drivers seat about 35 feet in the air and you can get your wheels within an inch of where you want them.

It is also part of the air system. Anybody know what it is? I have not driven any buses so don't really kn...

Don't tow with a chain

Chains are a very dangerous way of towing, due to the random directions that they fly, if they break.

A spliced wire strop is much safer, as it is more inclined to just go limp, if it breaks.

Thanks for the welcome Sharkey, I agree totally with all of those points. While I don't particularly consider people living on boats in a marina to be liveaboards; they tend to be discriminated against in the same way that you describe people in house trucks, parked on the road. The marinas who do a...

Nomadic housing

I'm checking out this forum because I am into various forms of mobile housing. I grew up living on boats and see many similarities between living on them and in trucks, buses etc.. I also blog about it, see my signature at the bottom.
