Update

I went on a trip to Wisconsin last month, was going to stay for 2 days, stayed for almost a week. Even made some money. The heat works better than in my wildest dreams. I have been using the bus for over two years, this is the first time I really felt comfortable even though things are far from fini...

Wheels look nice.
Here's a link to a picture of the floor probably more earlier.

Re: Fun with the Phantom

Very impressive build. I saw it on another site, but just went through it again. I am impressed how each project gets finished, I don't seem to work that way. Different skill sets I guess. I would never have installed my floor the way I did had I not seen your build.

Re: Honey, look what followed me home--can I keep it?

I'm working on a simple but functional conversion without a lot of frills
I'll bet. I think your "not a lot of frills" will but most fancy buses to shame.

Re: Different Wisdom

Hey Jim, Looks like you are making progress, I admire your woodworking skills. I was just wondering just the other day if you had survived the winter. :) I looked at a biscuit joiner for my cabinet doors, but in the end went with a beadlock loose tenon jig setup. The test pieces came out nice. I esp...

Happy camping, it's still below zero here. I seem to vaguely remember Chucko.

Re: Different Wisdom

Good to hear from you, I had begun to wonder. Understand about the "life" getting in the way of finishing things. Cart looks great.

Re: somewhereinUSA build

This is something I posted on another forum in response to something about owning a bus isn't cheap. I don't have very much money, never have had. Someone recently asked why I didn't just buy a motorhome. I may be plodding along on my conversion, but it's all paid for. I can wait until I have enough...

Re: somewhereinUSA build

The floor covering is 3/4 inch plywood with a plastic coating on both sides. Really nice 9 ply stuff. The strips are H section aluminum. It's basically a full floating floor. I picked up the ply at a RV surplus place for $10 a sheet, and couldn't pass it up. I really like it, don't know how it will ...

Re: 1935 Chevy school bus

If I remember correctly there used to be some winter fronts made of some sort of vinyl that was double layer with some sort of batting inside. Kind of like a quilt. Something like the twist lock fasteners on MGB's had for their tops. Not the press the dot ones, hated them. I think some winter fronts...

Re: somewhereinUSA build

Jack, That is a router bit. I have a router, but I think this works better for a lot of things, kinda like an upside down router table, that you can see what you are doing. You have to spin the bit really fast, I don't think the new cheapo drill presses would go that fast or have that good of spindle...
