Re: Different Wisdom

I mentioned earlier that we had coolant and hydraulic leaks during our middle Tennessee trip in early July. Soon after that trip, the water pump sprung a serious leak around the shaft. I found a good, American made pump on eBay for about $70. I've learned to not search for parts under Detroit Diesel...

Re: Different Wisdom

Greetings Friends, We're still alive, but several things have changed. We had to move home base and out of the shop I've used for the past 12 years during the month of June. Kept us a bit busy. The banjo building workshop at Tennessee Tech went well. Still working on the aftermath of that as I slowl...

I'd have been disappointed to not have heard that bragging. Congratulation, Jack. We all know that you deserve it.

Here are a few shots of my two new Marinco, stainless steel inlets. I love 'em. Would love 'em even more if they were installed. http://i61.tinypic.com/2pria2u.jpg http://i58.tinypic.com/dc5tox.jpg http://i59.tinypic.com/2hhjh4m.jpg http://i60.tinypic.com/htd4bp.jpg And here is what a half dozen blo...

Re: Different Wisdom

That sounds like so much fun!! Do you teach this every year? We go to east TN several times a year - north of Knoxville - and that is something I could really get into! Smithville is S/W of Cookeville and a good bit west of Knoxville. This will be my first time teaching for Tennessee Tech. They got...

Re: Different Wisdom

Not much bus progress to report. Ended up not buying anything extra in Elkhart. Purpose for the trip was to replace one of the windows I bought last summer. It had a broken seal. We did that and bought a spare which could replace any of the four main windows should that ever be necessary. I've not e...

Re: Fun with the Phantom

A lovely bus in a lovely setting. Glad you had a good time. We've been trying to get a couple nights in a state park, but between Mother's health and our other obligations, it ain't been happening.

Myrna looks great, too. Do you generally start pups at that age?

Re: Sort of related to my bus---

I'm sorry, Jack, but I'm not sure what you're asking. Can you be more specific about what you need that you currently don't have? I thought you were already setup to tow the woody.

I'd love to offer a useless suggestion, but I don't know how to frame it.

That's quite a rig, Jack. Can't wait to see the MC9 pulling Honeysuckle Rose pulling the Morris pulling the tent trailer. You'll make national news.

Lovely wood work on the Morris. Is it maple?

Re: Different Wisdom

None of my tires are balanced. I'm not aware of any shop in this area with the capability. I never had any tires balanced on the Flxible, either. I've never considered it necessary. I notice no tire vibration at any speed. Maybe I'm just numb.

Re: Different Wisdom

New tires on L/R. Doublestars look great on the outside, but that's obviously not the entire story. Discovered that the two I removed were both caps made in '06. Glad to have them gone. I would imagine they are both Chinese knockoffs. Mark, they're definitely Chinese, but they have a 5 year track record. The guy I'm dealing with has been in the same place in our county for 34 years. I trust him. Darryl, thanks for all the effort you've put into research and contact. Your knowledge...

Re: really "need" this------Hello All

Sometimes you guys just crack me up. I'm reminded of the ancient story about the fellow who dreamed that he had been plopped down in the "men's section" on judgment day. Before him were two doors, one marked "MEN" and the other "Henpecked Husbands." The line in front of...
