Where....

It's at Mid Lane, 4237 W 5th in Eugene. Gordon has been working on it, he's been a great guy so far. He's tried to talk us out of spending our money on this at every step! <grin>

I'll let him know about the T idea. And I'll give Tru Line Alignment and Brake a call too.

thanks

Well Done!

I just noticed the spellcheck button w/ my last post. Many thanks Sharkey.

So far it's worked great for me, firefox/windows.

The spell checker thinks "Sharkey" is mis-spelled! <grin>

Transplant a roof?

Greetings all, My family purchased the excellent bus that was offered in the for sale section of this informative site (redwood bus). Some current pics (careful, the images are very big): http://www.ingri.com/bruce/bus/index.htm It's been in the shop in Eugene for a while, and they're suffering tryi...

I'm playing w/ a browser side plugin for spell checking

All, I'm playing around w/ a few of the spell checking extensions for FireFox. It looks like they all require the spelling dictionaries from the Mozilla Suite, but once in place you can edit in BBS/Forum pages and spell check from your web browser before submitting. I don't want to recommend one unt...

Floors - It's my first time...

Greetings, We are about to put down a floor in our '73 IHC Carpenter. I am scouring the web for info, and I've got quite a few books angling across the US in UPS trucks now. But if y'all aren't too busy, could you please throw out yer 2 cents? 1. Should I pull the rubber floor out, or just bang down...

Towing a Bus

Can a bus be flat towed? What kind of rig is needed? There are quite a few busses that have become permenant homes around here, but most of them have had the engine/tank removed. If a person wanted to move one, and the axles still spin - what's the best way? (And yeah, the roads are pretty darn empt...

Bus is rolling

Dennis, thanks for the offer of assist! Yer information was plenty good enough! We figured we'd give the standard jump a try, and then use the plank trick to wrestle the battery out of the compartment and haul it home for charging. The battery wasn't 100% dead. When we pulled the headlights, the fil...

Jump Starting a Bus?!

Greetings wise ones... Situation: I've got a bus w/ a dead battery that I need to move before Monday (Story below). It's a 1973 International Carpenter. The battery is a huge wedding cake sized drawer mounted thing that I doubt I could lift myself. (6 - 2v cells in a single plastic body, rated 1150 ...

Dennis, Thanks for the tip on the 2kw x 2 setup - that's exactly the kind of modularity we need. I appreciate the offer on the panels. We're still too eary in our decision making and budgeting to comit our cash yet. Hopefully in a few months we'll have the power strategy hammered out. We're still in...

Second Question Answered

Sharkey! You answered my second question before I even asked it! <grin> I've been trying to figure out if an AC or DC generator was the ultimate fit, once the homestead is 100% solar. Sounds like sticking to DC is the best way to go. I totally agree about running the generator all the time. Obviousl...

Which generator should I start with?

Allright, I know I don't even know enough to ask this question yet, but I figured it couldn't hurt. We're moving into a bus (probably 2) as our first step in homesteading (2 grown ups, 2 youngsters). We plan to go 100% solar over the next few years. Money is the reason for not doing it all at once. ...

Insuring a Bus Home

Howdy, Another newbie question, Could you guys shout out the names of insurance companies that you use to insure a school bus conversion? All the insurance companies I've called so far seem to draw a line between Professional and Non-Professional Bus Conversions, and another line between Class A/C M...
