I am about 700 miles away(still in CA) and have been eye balling it. I spoke with the owner today and he said he is going to see if it runs or not today or tomorrow. It's too big to follow me home on my gooseneck so would have to be a driver. The owner thinks it was driven into the storage yard where he got it. He towed it home on his flatbed trailer. It weighs between 14 and 15k. I will keep you posted. If I do get it, it will join my 72 IH 1700 4x4 Shortbus. My wife will be so happy.

I have a truck that I think is big enough to flat tow it back. The tow rig would be a 1978 IH Loadstar 1700 4x4 flatbed truck with a 392, air brakes and a five speed. What do you guys think about flat towing an old bus 700 miles. I would have to get a tow bar and fab something to hook on the the front of the bus. My dad and I have flat towed stuff before like log trucks but it was only for 40-50 miles and someone rode in the truck getting towed. I should see how much it would cost to get it hauled up here commercially but am afraid of how much it would be.
