my first ride was a 64 olds super 88, had a 394 rocket and a slim jim tranny what a tough old ride but it would cruise and out run the local camaros and mustangs as long as we would do a 25mph start, was still going 10 years after I sold it, some company was using the olds motor and front wheel drive tranny on a class a mh at one time, can't remember what co. it was, but they were advertising it as a low center of gravity with that drivetrain, some of the older-timers may remember it.

the fact that it is a GT makes it even nicer.

Im so glad that little rig is far away or i'd end up that dam thing, The way I understand it is that it's the only one of it's kind. When I pitch my Tipi at any of the campgrounds here everybody has to come around to have a look and ask the big question " Is that a real Tipi" so im sure no one would be able to walk be without stoping to bug me :( but what fun it would be to have. I don't dare show this rig to my daughter :D

About 25 years ago, my sister had a 68 Barracuda that she would drag race at the local track. There was a guy that would show up at the track towing his race car with one of these:

I got so wrapped up with the olds, but I know a fellow who has towed for several years with an Eldorado , and he swears it was one of the best towing Platforms ever , he said the only problem was sometimes backing in the site on the grass down in Florida with the 28 footer he some times had to get two or three fellow campers to sit on the front fenders for added traction :)

Well, not absolutley. This one is made from a 1969 Toronado, and was constructed by a disgruntled General Motors fabricator who was irritated because he felt that the GMC motorhomes were misnamed because the foundation of the vehicle was really an Oldsmobile.

Image

A 1967 Airstream Globetrotter was grafted to the sedan's frame, and approximately 4,000 hours were required to complete the project.

It's new owner rechristened the vheicle the "Airanado Airscream"

From an upcoming book review I'll be posting on the site soon.
