Anyone heard of these buses?

Yes, those boys have too much time on their hands. The designer of these vehicles, Michael Leeds, is a casual acquaintance. I once sent him some photos of my Crown asking for design ideas and got back some rather fantastic art-deco-locomotive-of-the-future drawings. Nothing I would ever be capable of building, of course, but very fanciful.

I visited his shop in 1998 and saw amazing project ideas laying all over the place, stuff he had picked up here and there with the idea of doing something interesting with them some day. This was before he and Randy Grubb got heavily into the big-truck-as-hot-rod thing. At that time, he just had Bertha, a vintage Seagrave fire truck that he had turned into a simple roadster. Not long after that visit, he got the bug to build all the sweeping fenders, etc., and really pimped out the car/truck.

The "Pete" project languished for many years, but I guess it eventually got finished.

Seems Mike's started a new project since the last time I visited the web site, this one with a V12 airplane engine! I have to kind of wonder about some of the engine choices, the B702 uses a GMC V12 engine that is pretty much identical in design to the V6 that powers my Housetruck. It's a very low-output, low RPM engine that's best used in industrial purposes. I guess they just like the rumble of all those cylinders.

I'm actually partial to the car that they built around the second of the tank engines:
