This is the one I want. Now, let me see. All I need is for 40 people to send me thousand dollars a piece. That shouldn't be too hard. I'll just start a church.

Rudy, that nice coach would just spoil you- make you think you were one of the elite! You might not even want to talk to any of us after owning something that snazzy! Better stick with a humble homemade bus! Unless of course you win the lottery. . . .

I don't see the appeal, really. Where is the wood stove and crooked stove pipe? Where are the weathered shingles? White leather interior? How long is that going to stay clean after I roll around on the ground rebuilding a VW diesel? How come it only has six wheels and tires? I like ten. Might as well take the $37k and put a down payment on a cheesy condo somewhere...

Rudy, you are a lot better off (by a lot!) with your bus. Back in the mid '90s, my in-laws had a Holiday Rambler 5th wheel (actually 2 of 'em, a 36 foot and a 30 foot). The materials used in them are the cheapest and most light weight imaginable. I remember the plumbing looked like soda straws. Everything about the whole unit was delicate and flimsy. Items would break if you just looked at them wrong. You would be heavily invested in duct tape and unhappiness with one of these things.

A little too Spartan. I guess it's "ok" if your plastic Jesus doesn't affect the radio..

I like odd vehicles, so that one sure cranks my tractor, but it must be about the most underpowered thing on the road. Of course, we live in a totally different world from the one that truck was built for.
I've had the pleasure a few times of driving old trucks along old state and fed routes that have pretty much been left behind since the interstate system came into existence. It quickly takes me back to late 50's, thru the 60's, when I rode with my Dad in a B-model Mack as he hauled cotton or pulled a chemical tank around the southeastern part of the country. Two-lane roads, about 175 hp, and 50 or 60 thousand pounds gross weight gave you speeds that allowed for seeing the countryside, not skimming through it.
Man, thinking about that stuff makes me wish I had been born much sooner, then I wouldn't have to think about why we wasted all that oil, and what we're gonna do about it now. Actually I think I know what we're gonna do about it. Nothing, 'till we can't afford to do it anymore.
How'd I get off on that, all 'cause of a little ol truck?

Thanks for the link.
