Chev Step Van Motorhome conversion for sale

Post by dburt »

(This is not my listing, I just saw it on Craigslist and thought someone on the forum might be looking for a step van house truck for a cheap housing alternative)

$3,100 OBO in SW Boise, Idaho

"Chevy Step Van, with a great running 350 engine. 1979, one ton chassis with dual rear wheels. Used to be a potato chip delivery truck. This truck is approximately 25 feet in length, with dual rear tires and was converted to a VERY comfortable, "homey" Motor Home about 20 years ago, but, has been used very little each year. It has been used for work away from home, camping and fishing trips, an excellent hunting camp, parties, barbeque get-togethers, and for some cross-country trips. A very comfortable home away from home and traveling set up! The vehicle has a 350 engine, (200K + miles), that has always been serviced and taken care of and runs excellent! It was constructed with complete self-sufficiency in mind and was constructed from a "stick-home" mentality rather than a "Mobile Home" or "Standard RV" mentality . Amenities include;
Dual bottle gas supplies with selector valve, gas / electric refrigerator, 3-burner gas stove and dual gas lamps which give a very soft and warm evening glow with-in.
The sink and faucet is fed by a switched electric water pump supplied by a 5 gallon potable water storage tank. It was designed to sleep 4 comfortably, but, will sleep more if necessary. It is paneled through-out and has plenty of storage, as well as, drawers, cabinets and cupboards for dishes, cookware and silverware.
It has had many small amenities added over the years such as, stereo, cigarette lighter power sources for running a microwave via 12vdc/115vac converter or a T.V. etc...
It has overhead roof vents (crank open / close), vehicular evaporative cooler, and plenty of sliding windows with curtains. A storage rack with storage tool box was added on the rear of the vehicle, and
storage on the roof, with a ladder for roof access. Trailer hitch for your boat, work trailer, etc..., Good rubber and spare tire with 6 ton bottle jack for emergencies.
Also, has an roll-out awning for shade on the side of the vehicle.
Extremely comfortable and warm for camping, traveling, work, fishing, hunting or just sitting in the yard and listening or watching a ball game!
May be a little rough looking but, just needs some new paint. Still a wonderful, functional fun machine!
Paint it Blue and Orange... it would be great for BSU tail-gaiting !!!
May throw in an "AC/DC TV" as well!
Please contact Tom at 208-250-5580 , 899-6199 or via craigslist."
