Hello from the UK!...

Post by MBanks »

Hi there!

Thought I'd introduce myself, Martin here, from the UK. I grew up on a small island (Mersea Island) on the south east coast, later moving to the south coast to study followed by a few years in London for work.

I have always wanted to live out of a van, and in July last year my girlfriend, of 7 years, and I bought our first van, a 1968 Bedford Romany CA for £250.

Photo of us collecting it with my parents after buying it: http://www.facebook.com/album.php?aid=2 ... =556715211

Whilst living in London we would commute to Mersea at the weekends to restore th van:

On September we finally got it back on the road:

Unfortunately the windscreen leaks and currently the glass is out and I am waiting for a new window rubber. Then we are onto customising the inside. Hopefully I will find some good tips from the forum :)

It's not exactly a housetruck but we plan on keeping it and who knows what will happen...I've had my eye on some old buses recently ;)

We are planning on traveling to new Zealand next year to travel through the country, I am hoping we will have the delights of seeing some housetrucks during out stay.

Right, now I'm off to have a nose around in the forum!

Martin.
