One of my favorites:

Three guys are traveling on the freeway. They get caught in a snowstorm and luckily make it to a motel. However, there is only one room available.

The three guys say they will take it. The clerk says the room is thirty dollars. The men each give him ten dollars.

Later on, the clerk feels guilty about charging too much and realizes that twenty five dollars is what he should have charged for the room.

He calls in the busboy, and hands him 5 one dollar bills, and instructs him to go give the money back to the guys who rented the room.

The bus boy knocks on the door, and says to them that the room is actually cheaper than what they paid.

So he hands them back a dollar each, and pockets the other two dollars.

The guys end up paying nine dollars a piece, instead of ten.

So, three times nine dollars is 27 dollars, plus the two dollars that the bus boy kept equals 29 dollars.

What happened to the extra dollar?

Time to inform you of the Still Unanswered Questions.

In what state was the ranch on Bonanza located?

What year did full size Chevy vans go from full chassis frames to a unitized body?

What parts on the Stanley Steamer car had to constantly be replaced? (Hint, it was due to the weight of the vehicle)

What was the only year that the Mercury Comet had the " cat's eye" tail lights?

On the Mighty Thunderbirds, What was the scientist, nerdy guy, called?

From Wallfly: Anyone remember Peter Lawford's compliment to Nancy Reagan?

What was the name of Tom Slick's car?
What was Super Chicken's regular name (when he wasn't Super Chicken)?

If you are clever enough, you can find the answer to this question on the Music Central thread. Who played guitar on a lot of the Monkee's recordings? (hint, his initials are GC)

Who was the first actor to play the James Bond role? That sure is a bunch.

P.S. I know where that extra dollar went.

Had to think about this one for a few... The room was $25...they got $5 change from $30...gave the busboy a $2 tip and each took $1 change. There is no extra dollar.

That would be correct. The misnomer is that they paid nine dollars each, when in actual fact they paid nine and one third dollars each.

Starting with $30= $10 each. Minus $5 = $25 divided by three = eight and one third dollars each, plus the extra dollar they each got back, makes nine and one third dollars.

But wait, Bob, 3 times 9 is 27. Plus two equals 29. Don't it?

They did spend $27 ($25 for room and a $2 tip) and they got $3 in change. 27 plus 3 makes 30. I am thinking that maybe you smoked the other dollar or something! :D
I must confess that I had a gread idea for a question here earlier today (I think it was today) but I cant remember what it was...maybe I smoked the dollar? :?

I REMEMBER!!!!!
OK...a couple go on a long walk together...side by side always close enough that they could hold hands. At the end of their walk she says "My oh my! I have walked over 5 miles!" His reply..."I have walked almost 7 miles!" How can that be?

Maybe they both walked around 6 miles, which would be both over 5 miles and almost 7 miles.

Or, maybe they walked around in circles with him on the outside, which would mean he would walk a slightly longer distance on each circle.

Good guess but incorrect. They did not walk in circles, and he did in fact walk almost 2 miles farther than she did.

Was it in a gym, walking side by side on those conveyor belt walking machines? With one of them going a bit faster than the other?

While working one of his fields, a farmer comes across a young man with a pack on his back laying dead, face down on the ground. There is no sign of foul-play, how did the young man die?

The young man died of premature old age.
