The snow has been very light here splummer but were on the south(warm) end of it. I've heard PEI is expensive due to it being quite a tourist destination. I hope the views were worth the trip.

Rudy, where the .... you been?

I've been right here. Where have you been, Orbit?

I've been hanging out with Martha in Los Angeles.

Orbit, you DO know that I must leave here soon. You also know that my head is spinning with nervousness.

OH, BOO HOO! What the hell are you scared of?

Orbit, why are you giving me a hard time? It has been a long time since I have relocated.

Rudy, just get on with it, and quit your bitchin'.

Orbit, I am not like you, who lives on forever. The older I get, the more timid I become. Why aren't you here helping me?

TIMID? What a bunch of bullshit! You don't need me. You have everything you need within you. Dig deep, my brother. It IS there.

Orbit, you are always right. I get so scared sometimes.

Also, don't you know that Ezrablu and many others are missing you on Sharkey's?

Yes, I do.

Well, keep in touch with them. They can be a great support for you.

OK

Tasks for the next three days are:

Remove insulation and heat tape around waste tank.

Arrange my two storage bays to encompass 4 diesel cans and telescoping ladder and the 22 gallon porta tank.

Check tightness on oil pan and transmission pan bolts.

Check rear end fluid.

Wash bus.

Register and insure bus.

Summon up the nerve to drive this thing.

A REPORT:

Today was good. Nice weather. I got some sun on my skin. It felt nice.

A good day because I arranged my two storage bays. I can get my extra fuel cans, my telescoping ladder, the porta tote, a tool box with 1/2 drive sockets and big wrenches, a few boxes of 12 volt fluorescent light fixtures, two AC to DC converters, and a bunch of stuff I salvaged from the Dodge Class C I used to live in.

Today is a pinnacle because there is nothing left that has to come into the bus. I also have enough storage to accommodate everything with enough room left over for 100 cans of food, 30 gallons of fresh water, 60 lbs of dog food.

You should have seen how much clothes I got rid of last week.

I feel lighter now.

Happy trails to me.

Rudy

In a telephone conversation with a friend today, I expressed how I am still a bit scared about starting this big bus and driving it down the road.

My friend said, " well, you can't fly it, so you gotta drive it."

What a great laugh that brought about. I haven't laughed so heartily in quite a while.

" You can't fly it!"

Bob called me last night. He said that once I start driving this machine, I'm gonna love it.

After all, what's not to love about a big white steering wheel?

You get to sit up higher then most cars, so you can look down on them and feel quite superior!

Also little wedgie cars give you extra room, they feel intimidated by so much mass like your bus in thier personal road space.

You can stop anywhere you want and take a lunch or nap break and be right at home. Spend the night in a Walmart parking lot, and see how neat it is to just hop out of your home and walk a few feet into shopping nirvana!

Other driver's look at you and wonder where you are going, are you a truly free spirit on your way to some new adventures? Then they sigh to themselves and drive on to thier cookie cutter job or cookie cutter house in thier cookie cutter sub-division in thier cookie cutter little boxy wedgie cars in thier extremely dull life. They envy you Rudy! You are doing what they only dream of! :D

Rudy, just remember your mirrors are your friends. Look into both sides mirrors regularly, not only will they show you what traffic is around, they will also show you where you are on the road. By the time it gets dark, you won't be guessing where you are, you will know!

Thanks Stuart. I remember that you mentioned looking at both mirrors regularly.

I don't want to drive at night. It's a shame though because all my running lights are working.

I do have Big brake light lenses as well as LED lights. 4 lights go on when I press on the brakes. I have BIG yellow turn signal lenses on both the front and the back.

Ever since you first wrote about being cognizant of the road space you take up while driving a bus, I have been watching school buses as they drive down the road.

They usually hug the yellow line. Of course, other vehicles make room for them.
