Jackson Browne wrote a song about a hand, but he named it "Rosie" :D

New member...

Well, I just like to say hi to everybody here, and introduce myself for a start. I have read on/off for almost 2 days in here now, and I'm very impressed with both the content and the people in here... 8)

I'm Jesper, 42 years old, married, and living in Denmark. My wife and I are planning on converting a bus, but I can't find any forum for people like us here in Denmark, or in Europe for that matter - or at least not written in english!

We will go to Germany to pick up a bus for a conversion. At first we planned on buying a small RV, but I haven't been very pleased with the ones we have seen so far - they seem to be in pretty bad health.

I would like to paste a photo of me and the wife, but it seems a little difficult, so here is my facebookprofile - http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=100001567122755

Welcome to the insanity Jesper The Dane, one other link you may want to check out is http://www.nomadichome.org/ he is also a member here, I hope it is OK to post another site here, if not and I am out of line it is OK to delete this post. Most everything is the same setup as here they just messed up and put the entry doors and steering wheel on the wrong side of the bus, but they also drive on the wrong side of the road so I guess it all works out. You have allot of reading ahead of you if you read all the threads. MRSHARKEY deffinately has just about everything you will need to know about converting any type of vehicle to a rolling home. If you come across something you don't understand or having problems with it, don't be shy about asking any questions, someone here will be able to guide you through it.

WELCOME to the BUS FAMILY

James, it's never a problem to post links to outside sources of information, that's what the forum is for, sharing knowledge.

Now if I could just get people to stop posting links to youtube without adding some explanation of what the content on the video is about, I'd be happy.

Sharkey, I rarely go to the YouTube links, as I have slow transmission of data in my present location.

I agree that it is only fair that we who post YouTube links, to describe what is on there.

I am GUILTY AS CHARGED on the you tube postings, I thought everybody liked the mystery of seeing what it is when it popped up. I never thought about it being a problem loading it. I apologize for what I have posted so far and try to be informative on it from now on.

James sitting in the corner of the GRAYDAWG for now, but I do use spell check on all my post or no one would understand any of my post.

Hello and Welcome, Jesper! Jump right in and have fun!

I have only one link to a European site (Sweden) with a forum, but it is not in English. If you think it may help, here is a link to the site:

http://husbussensvanner.net/

Here's a couple more sites over there.

http://www.husbusster.com/index.eng.htm
http://www.husbussen.se/

(I've helped a few of them from all 3 sites find parts for their American made busses that they own.)

Again, Welcome!

Thanks for the warm welcome to everyone - and thanks very much for the Swedish links - I didn't know about them. I do not know why I didn't bother looking towards our brotherland for info?! But better late than never!

Actually I'm half Norwedian, and the three nordic languishes are easily read by all of us in Scandinavia - unstanding each other when speaking, is a completely different matter!!! ;)

I'll have a look into these swedish homepages, but I most say that reading in here for the past three days have been a real pleasure!

Denmark is by far the most restricted country in Scandinavia when it comes to alternative fitted vehicles... I'm having a laugh just trying to think about what the motoring office would say to that VW pusher of Sharkeys!!!! He wouldn't even get it back out of the parkinglot, before being escorted by the police!

I was initially looking for a smaller motorhome to just get me and the Mrs. out of the neighborhood on vacations and so. But as I like to build stuff my self, I quikly started looking for something bigger and better. Something that could be our home, as part of a more radical change in life.

We have been married for a couple of years, and met just before my children got old enough to stand on their own feets. We are just the two of us, and both having the same dream of bussin' and travelling - we have decided that now is a good time to go looking for a bus...! :)
