Having just spent the night in Wanaka and taking a few snap shots, I thought I would start a new topic for New Zealand photo's. I will shift my other ones over here later, but first here are some from Wanaka in the South Island.

Dunedin is my home town now. As you can see from the above photo's, it's not to bad here either.Jones'n4chrome wrote:That looks like a very nice place to spend the night, I bet it was hard to leave after just one day though.
Thanks for the pics.

Great pics Stuart! Some of lake areas looks very much like the impound lakes and terrain behind the different dams on sections of the Snake River where it runs along the border between Oregon and Idaho north towards Washington.
For some reason I thought your area did not get snow except in the high mountains- so it was a shock to see snow in your hometown of Dunedin.
I guess I was under the impression that it was a semi-tropical area down there.

This is a Kea, native mountain parrot. Like many of our native birds the colours can look rather drab.
Don't be fooled by this one though, they are cheeky and like to eat the rubber seals around car windscreens.
And they are really much more colourful than first appearances suggest.

HEY DUSTY, the pics you posted are fantastic, wish they would hurry up with the bridge to New Zealand, have a 140 gallon tank onboard, and its full of diesel, got my eyes on a 100 gallon aluminum rectangle tank off a 18 wheeler, but I doubt that would even come close to enough fuel to get there. Yaw have some beautiful scenery over there, enjoy as much travel as you can while your young enough to enjoy it. Most people in the US work all thier life, retire, buy a RV travel a few years and then die, JUST DO IT while you can enjoy it and HAPPY TRAILS TO YOU

ps keep sending those beautiful picture's, I may try to print them and frame some of them.
