Generator question?

Post by Dualfuel »

I have an American Bosch generator RGC-1250-402. Its 12volts and 50amps. It might have been used on 1959 Lincolns with AC. Could I use any 12volt regulator on it? I understand the idea that the generator might put out higher amps then a lower amp regulator would allow, but I'd just suffer from lower output right?
Dunno, need some opinions from the guys who used to coble these things back in the day. My Forte is the Delco 10si.
Thanks,
DF

DualFuel, no smarts here about the correct regulator. Just want to say I _strongly_ suspect you can't use one designed for an alternator, least not straight out of the box. The genny is wired different from an alternator.
