Here's what I woke up to this morning:
About five inches of dry powdery stuff. Overnight low temperatures were about 29° F. This is the most snow I've seen all at once in about 20 years, and the driest in at least half that. So far, the snows here at the coast have been wet, sticky affairs, with lots of limbs breaking, trees falling, etc.
Had to go out and sweep snow off the solar panels, and when I went to feed Camellia, she really wanted out of the stall and into the white. I let her out on a lead rope for a few minutes, then put her back in to eat some hay. It was snowing pretty hard then, and since she couldn't get any grass in the yard, I didn't see the point in letting her get wet and cold.
Later in the morning when it let up and the sun came out, I put her in the pasture, where she ran around like a kid, burying her nose in the snow, pawing the ground, and kicking up her heels.
She was hard to track and catch with the camera, I consistently aimed too far in front of her.
It's coming down hard again, the temperature is right at freezing. It's supposed to get very cold tonight, then gradually get warmer. Depending on the accuracy of that forecast, I may have snow left over for Thanksgiving.

Beautiful!! Snow!! Yay!
Sometimes we get snow. Usually about a foot all at once the first or second week of March.
The rest of the time we get ice. 1/4 to 2 inches of the stuff at a time. I hate ice.
We are supposed to get the 24 the rest of you are seeing on Wednesday night. With a high Thursday of 40. Wouldn't be all that bad if it wasn't 83 yesterday. And about 65 today.
Happy Thanksgiving!!!!
