Here is a musical question.

Name three bands where the bass player was the singer.

Name the bands and the bass players.
Got love? Give love.

Just looking for some clarification...would that be that the bass player was the only singer or could it be having sang lead on a song in general?

Two of the bands I am thinking of had the bass player as the lead singer. One of the bands had other members alternate as the lead singer.

Wow okay! There's soooo many! Off the top of my head...

Pink Floyd - Roger Waters
The Band - Rick Danko and Levon Helm
ZZ Top - Dusty Hill

Extra credit?

Primus - Les Claypool
The Who - John Entwistle
Kiss - Gene Simmons
The Police - Sting
The Beatles - Paul McCartney

The bands I was thinking of were:

Cream-Jack Bruce
The Police-Sting
The Beatles-Paul McCartney

Roger Daltry was the singer in the Who. He did not play bass.
I thought the guitar player, Billy Gibbons, in ZZ Top did the singing.

Dennis, wrong robot name. The robot's name starts with the same three letters as robot starts with.

It's not mainstream popular fact but John Entwistle was the only member of the band with formal vocal training. Even though Entwistle contributed something on every recording(except Quadrophenia), Daltry was the "chosen one" when not switching off to Pete Townsend. However, there are "The Who" recordings in which Entwistle was the lead singer and if I remember correctly, it was only on songs that he had written.

Dusty Hill also sang lead though not nearly as often as Gibbons. "Tush" would be his most popular lead singing contribution and there were others as well, particularly on "Fandango!". I've seen him take lead singing duties a number of times live.
