Buy American!

This post was originally about where the gas comes from that we get at the gas stations. It contained misinformation as to some gas stations selling gas that came form the United states.

Sharkey was kind enough to point that out. (See below in his post).

I will, however, suggest that everyone look at the country of origin on every item they buy, whether it be food, electronics, cars, bikes, or toilet paper.

Buy American! It's a small thing we can do to help out this country.

Thanks

Sorry Rudy, but you are forwarding a phony urban legend:

If you really want to get off the foreign oil nipple, get rid of your gas burners and run biodeisel, at least you'll be supporting US farmers.

We have a couple refineries in the area and the product is spread through all the various brands. They exchange oil every which way.

North slope oil was banned from export for many years (until mid '90s) but they still had "opportunities" to exchange oil through the Pacific. Just because they say it is all American oil doesn't mean it's drilled and produced here. It could be a tanker from somewhere else that was exchanged - and since oil is oil is oil is oil - it is pretty much interchangeable - WITH adjustments for composition. (Light, sweet versus heavy tar, etc.)
