You will need to determine if the transmission or transfer case can be run down the road in neutral.

Many of the newer transmissions and transfer cases need to have the front shaft turning to provide lubrication. In toad mode only the rear shaft turns which can become a real expensive problem.

I like Ford Rangers...but I really LOVE my jeep! I've had 3 of them, all straight 6's and never added any oil between oil changes...plus they will go anywhere!

I saw Nassau and mind jumped to Bahamas. Then saw the snow. Must be New York.

Had a friend with a Ranger and it was a good little truck. Can you put it on a flatbed trailer to pull it with? I guess I would still be concerned about the wear on wheel bearings, tires, etc even with the right transmission. I always prefer to change/repack trailer bearings than any motor vehicle's.

My truck that just had the head gasket seal go out is a Ford Ranger. It's been and awesome truck! I have over half million miles on it.
