Latest petrol price rise has been held back here , as we try to rebuild the 'quake damaged city.

Petrol $2.20 / Litre

Diesel $1.66 / Litre

Milk $1.95 / L

Bread $2.95 - $4.99

cord wood $180 soft wood $230 hard wood

cigarettes , ummm , I dont smoke any more , but I think they are around $18 - $20 pack of 20 - 25

oh, and GST (goods and services tax) has gone up from 12.5% to 15%

If only they would take the first born!! I have several I could probably pass off as first born! I have found that every time someone says that, they are kidding - they really don't want to feed them any more than I do. Oh, well.

Dusty, my sincerest condolences!! I am staying here after seeing that. I like bread AND milk and that would kill me to not be able to afford them.
