Hi Kids

I live out on the end of Long Island in N.Y. Most of my work is between 50 and 75 miles in travel one way. Gas is up to about $4.50 here so traveling is pretty costly. So what to do? Well, I decided to build a rolling bungalow so I can stay on the job for a week or two at a time. Here’s a few pics of the beginning. The welder finished the solar rack today. Im putting 9/51 watt panels on it. A Trace C40 charge controller and a 1000 watt xantrex inverter with remote. I’m just going to throw in 6 or 8/220 amph golf cart batteries for my power supply. I got a used rv stove/oven and a small 2 way fridg. It should be fine for short stays.

The aray hinges to both sides. I picked up 8 / 6 volt /220 amphr golf cart batteries at Sam's wholesale club for $58.00 each. Tomarrow I'll hook everything up. Im trying to get it up and running and pack up and get across the island by sunday. The job should take about 4 to 6 weeks so my "Bungalow" be great.

I’m out here with no signs of a cell phone or internet signal, so tonight I decided to drive around the county camp ground where im staying to see if I can at least find a cell phone signal so I can give my daughter a call and maybe catch up a bit and low and behold about 50 yards past the “DEAD ENDâ€

Either that or you could try one of those Peltier effect 12V fridges.

I met 2 people when out on the road with my little solar trailer and they called me to do a couple for them. one 7' x 14' and one 6' x 12' the 14 footer will have 6 / 210 watt evergreen and the 12 footer will have 4 / 210 watt evergreen panels. both will have 3000 watt xantrex inverter / chargers.

And of course I’ll need a fire in contemplation of the projects :D
