Dennis, Why is it that the only things I can smell are your pictures? I sure wish I could eat some of that. I want to be living close to you. You have inspired me to start cooking. I know that you would enjoy some of my dishes. I have not tried any desserts yet. I LOVE apple pie. You are inspiring to reach for higher goals. Rudy

Dennis, you better be glad I don't live closer then I do. You see, I am a US government certified Pie and Cookie inspector, authorized to sample and taste pies and cookies anywhere at any time in the lower 48. And if I find anything unusual about a pie or batch of cookies, like rare or uncommon taste, texture or smell then I am also authorized to confiscate that item for further study and examination. I find your pie in that catagory, but because it is a holiday, I am going to cut you some slack and not require you to send that pie to me via FedEx!

Well, That’s just another great reason to live in a bus or truck / home so when I see the pie revenuers comin on up the road I can gather up the desert viddles and hightail it out of here :P Seppin if some bus or truck dwellin kinfolk shoze up in there sundie-go-to-meetin best then we brakeout da pies 8) You know, of all the great shots in Rogers book the ones that stand out the most are the pic’s of the big pot-luck gathering. They are just great. Hopefully one day we might recreate those senses somewhere.

We just have to get you back easterners and the southerners like Rudy to head west! The Oregon trail where our ancestors headed west to new adventures is still visible in alot of places out here in Idaho and Oregon. There are deep ruts in the ground often 3-4 feet deep going for miles over the deserts, foothills and mountains where you can walk in the footprints of the pioneers.

The nice thing about today is that you don't have to head west on a dusty rough trail, we have the interstate highway system that brings you out here quickly and dust-free. So round up those buses and plan on heading west someday!

Hey Rudy

I’m gonna give this box bread a try and let you know if it's any good. There's 4 or 5 different kinds and all is needed is a 12 oz. can of seltzer or beer, mix it up and throw it a loaf pan and 50 minutes later you have bus baked bread. It's 3 bucks a box.

Dennis, You did it again!!! I love pies. I definitely can smell this one. I just hired a new pilot, and we are going to my Lear jet right now. You'd better save some of that pie for both of us. When we get there, you must show me you baking secrets. Rudy
