Spam and Potato soup

Post by Rudy »

This is a STRANGE one. I am actually kind of scared about this experiment. I figured that since Spam has so much salt in it, I would not add any spices. You will definitely get a report on this weird concoction.

Two 12 oz. cans of Spam diced into 1 inch cubes

Two potatoes diced into 1/2 inch cubes

Thirty baby carrots sliced into 1/2 inch segments

One quart beef broth.

Nothing else.

Wish me luck.

No luck needed. I can tell you already that will be "bomb dot com" as my kids would say.

In the immortal words of Gomer Pyle."Surprise Surprise."

The Spam and potato soup is very tasty. I am impressed by the way the Spam did not disintegrate in the crock pot. It also became mellower and did not have the bite that it has when you eat it out of the can.

What I will do different next time is to put three potatoes instead of two. I will also cut the Spam into smaller cubes.

Here is a photo. I give this soup two thumbs up. It is SO easy to prepare.

Spam and Potato Soup

Absolutely great Rudy,

Lotsa potatoes still from the garden, gotta go shopping tomorrow, me thinks Monday is going to be spam and potato soup.

I will have to buy extra carrots or my horse will get annoyed with me for stealing his treats for soup!

I like "rudybagas" and I think they would work good in this if you only had a bit of potato and needed more veg

Here's some recipes for all you Spamatics:

and 289 more:

spam.com has like 500 something recipes but they have a java page for it and it doesn't seem to work very well.
