Take whatever meat (or vegetable) scraps you wants as a base and add to a medium cooked onion and some garlic in the soup pot.

Cook this for at LEAST 2 hours, longer for meat. Strain broth, add more garlic, whatever herbs you have handy or suit the soup and the rest of your leftovers.

Cook until the hardest ingredients are done.

This soup is designed for the day you clean out the fridge and have little bits of things but not enough of anything to make a meal of.

I make this soup, too but yours has a cooler name 8) Sometimes I make it with browned ground beef (hamburger soup). I throw a couple of bay leaves in and a handful of macoroni if I have it.

Darn. I'm hungry. I wish that pie would hurry up :P

Ezra, Did you say you throw in a couple of hay bales in the hamburger soup?

Tonight's version at my house was chicken broth, garlic, onions, rice, thyme,a can of diced tomatoes and some broccoli, and it was great.

Saturday is hamburger soup day, because we'll have eaten this potful of soup by then.

Good with a couple of slices of any crusty bread , I had a potato loaf in the fridge today.

Time and love make a good soup, if you love cooking, and put time into it, that's the best soup.

Tomorrow, I'm going to get some fresh thyme from the garden, used dried tonight, and its just not the same  No flavor of thyme, just a hint, and I think I'll add more garlic too.

Hamburger soup will have plenty of barley, a real rib sticking good soup.

Rudy...I'd never run out of ingredients up here in Wisconsin lol

Soup IS the bomb. Just like a patchwork quilt...a little bit of everything and turns out beautiful. And while soup is warmer than a quilt, it does hurt more when you try to cover up with it :D

Blu, I eat soups because of my muscular dystrophy. I have to watch what I eat because it is easy for me to choke.

Even bread or biscuits can get lodged in my throat. When I drink water to clear the lodged foods, it comes out my nose. Almost funny.

My brother came to visit me a few years back. We went out for steak. I choked on a piece and almost died.

NO MORE STEAK!

Soup goes down easy.

Rudy, it's good you let ppl know so they are aware. I better learn the hind lick remover...or whatever it's called  And while I haven't actually done any mouth to mouth (for medical purposes anyway); kissing must be similar, right?

Ok, ya, ya...I know Rudy might be thinking about "our" non existant sex life and that I may not have done any kissin lately. But they say kissing is just like riding a bike....you never forget.

Except you don't pedal or hold handlebars. ok, you don't really actually need a bike either....but it can feel like you're spinning if you do it right :D

The right kiss may turn this frog into a prince.

Uh Rudy,

Would the right soup turn you into a prince?
Just kidding, if you and Bob get here, you'll both get hugs and kisses. I'm a very loving hostess :D

Last bowl of this tonight, threw in some ham bits in to give it a bit more flavour. Hamburger soup is nicely started and I'll test for flavor tomorrow at lunch.

Mystery packet of burger from the Food Bank, may have been venison or elk because it doesn't SMELL like beef!

Well, batch 2 was not satisfactory. I am going to freeze it, as it's edible, but lacking in flavor. I'll leave it in the freezer while I figure out how to fix it.

Hello Rudy, are you hiding behind your accordion? I can't see you in your avatar! :D
