I used to go visit my uncle Roland when he lived in a 25 foot trailer.
He always made his special pie for dinner.
Fry up some hamburger. Season to taste. Set aside.
Bake a pie crust in the pie pan.
Make some mashed potatoes.
Put the hamburger in the pie crust.
Put a layer of mashed potatoes on top of the hamburger.
Put the pie in the oven until the mashed potatoes get browned on top.
YUM YUM!

That does sound good Rudy. My mom used to make something like that...thanks for shaking that memory loose. She also used to make hamburger casserole in a baking dish browned hamburger with onions, stir in a can cream mushroom soup, pour in a baking pan, pour on a can of green beans (drain the juice), top with either frozen french fries, tator tots or mashed potatos...bake at 350° until taters are done. MMmm. I like lots of pepper on mine.

Sounds good Rudy, I make something like that, with ground pork and mashed potatoes and herbs, French-Canadian tortiere', usually served after Midnight Mass at Christmas, but I like making it anytime and have made them hand sized too.
Other possibilities would be ground chicken or turkey seasoned to taste--a very adaptable recipe.
