1947 White super power school bus superior body
Vehicle Description
Up for bids is a 1947 White school bus. It has a body by Superior. It was originally a government bus, but was converted to a camper in the early '60s. It was parked in '67 and sat until this fall. We have not touched anything in the motor, tires or brakes. The bus is in good shape overall. Has a minor spot of rust on the right rear corner, and one spot about floor level in the middle on the drivers side. There is also a hole in the roof for the stove pipe. If you have any questions feel free to email me or call my dad(its his bus) @ 701-347-5234. It does have a title. The bus is stored outside and storage is paid through the end of January. Outside storage may be arranged. There should be a loader or tractor available to help load it.

Mark B, It is great that you have as much interest as I do in contributing to Sharkey's web site. As you can see, I failed to see your posting of this bus before I posted the same thing. I hope Sharkey can erase mine. I am all for redundancy when it comes to operating machinery, but we certainly don't need two postings of the same bus.
Are you using TinyPic to upload photos to the site? If you are, you should be aware of the sizing option that they offer. After you click on CHOOSE FILE and grab a photo, you have the option of resizing the photo for different purposes. One option is 640 X 480. It is good for forums because the pictures are not too big, causing one to have to scroll back and forth to read the writing. Resize after you pick the photo, and before you upload the photo. Rudy

Rudy, the photos on this page are from the eBay listing, so they are going to go away after the auction. I think you should repost your tinypic images in this thread so that there will be a record that lasts. I'll delete the duplicate topic thread after that. I'd move your post in that thread over here, but it takes a lot of batabase juggling to do that, it's easier to let you do it using the forum GUI.

Gee Sharkey, I got a little confused about your last posting. I can understand about posting my thread to this one, and I will do that. I don't know what a forum GUI is though.

As per Sharkey's suggestion, here is my post transferred to this post.

GUI = Graphical User Interface
Bascially, it's the buttons and links you use on your monitor to post, edit and reply to forum posts. I can do a lot of that stuff in the database utilities, but it's a lot more esoteric and involves a lot of handwavium. Much easier to let you quote yourself.

You can easily see why I don't try and post pictures when I start a thread about some new interesting bus or rolling home on EbayMotors. It's gets too technical for me! I leave the pictures posting up to someone else that can git 'er dun!

I know where the mate to this bus is, up in the Blue Mountains out of Walla Walla, Washington on what is known as the Tollgate hiway on the way to Elgin, Oregon. The old White has sat in the same spot since about 1976 when it was parked at a cabin in the woods near the hiway. About 15 years ago a large pine tree overloaded with heavy snow tipped over on the bus, mashing the top in the middle section down to the seat back level. So now the old gal moulders quietly away, sort of a sad fate for a once good old bus! I will try to get a picture of it come spring when I go over the mountains to the son's place to see the grandkids.
