1959 LEYLAND DOUBLE DECKER BUS on EbayMotors

Post by dburt »

Item number: 250576344968

(This bus would make a great guest room- just one issue: how would you get it home?)

"HERE'S THE DEAL; The bus was purchased to convert into a stationary coffee house. Before the conversion the bus ran fine, All the seats and railings were in place, It operated as a tour bus in Phoenix AZ.
For the Coffee house conversion the engine, transmission and drivetrain were removed. A/C ductwork was installed for lower level and upper level, It was planned that an Air handler would be placed in the engine compartment, The A/C compressor was to be placed outside the unit at the rear, The Air handler and compressor are not included with the sale.
In this conversion the Kitchen or Prep Area was to be the lower level all the way to the front of the bus. (3) 1/2" conduits were installed in this area to power any equip.
They run back to the "Mechanical room" the small area at the right rear of the bus, this is where the Electric panel was to be mounted, (2) 1/2" copper lines were run to the prep area as well for hot and cold water. The water heater was installed in the mechanical room, The plumbing is complete and still holding pressure. A 1 1/2" ABS plastic drain installed from the prep area to the mechanical room, Also the 1 1/2" ABS pipe is vented to the roof of the bus.
The lower level floor has been removed, The upper level floor is still intact, The lower level floor is ready to be installed, (not supplied with sale).
In this conversion the wheels were to be left on, but the frame was to be supported with pillars, much like a mobile home, The rear differential is still intact, The bus is still able to roll, A tow truck was planned to move it to the site.
The lower side panels were removed to install insulation, The upper panels have not. All windows were removed to replace the rubber, All the glass is there but no rubber.
It will require about 300' of new rubber for the windows.
This bus is what they call "Timber Frame Construction" it incorporated Aluminum skin, Steel channels and oak wood sandwiched between. Some of the wood on the lower portion of the left side will have to be replaced.
All the panels and trim are included in the sale.
For anyone who would like to return this bus back to a passenger bus it could be done. The engine and trans, were simply unbolted and pulled out the front, The cross members for the drivetrain were cut using a sawsall, and all the pieces are still here. If you are handy with a welder you could put it all back together.
The fuel tank and oil tank are still intact, In the drivers compartment the seat and foot pedals were removed to make room for the ductwork to the upper level.
After the sale, payment is due within 7 days. We are in no rush to move this unit, it can be left here as long as you need.
The first 60 days are free, after that it will be $1.00 per day. That should be plenty of time to coordinate the move, Also this unit is 13'5" tall. And we are 30 miles from the interstate, with no low bridges to go through.
Buyer will be responsible for transport and removal of bus.
This bus is being offered with or without the engine and drivetrain if you want to complete the conversion you do not have to take the engine and drivetrain.
If you have any questions please feel free to email me.
Thanks for looking!!!!"
