Insuring a Bus Home

Post by TinnedFish »

Howdy,

Another newbie question,

Could you guys shout out the names of insurance companies that you use to insure a school bus conversion? All the insurance companies I've called so far seem to draw a line between Professional and Non-Professional Bus Conversions, and another line between Class A/C Motorhomes and Bus Conversions.

The bottom line always seems to be - we won't insure you.

I'm just looking for legal insurance, not comprehensive or body damage, or anything tricky like that.

Thanks
Bruce

i used AAA. they wanted to see it, but I told them I was out of town and they did the deal with a fax machine. I just told them it was a 1960 Ford motor-home.

Hi everyone,

I've been away for a while because I located to Houston.

The insuurance I use is GMAC, through Good Sam. I also have Good Sam's road side assistance and it already paid for it self (Blew a tire on my trip).

GMAC will insure a bus conversion but, will only provide liability. The rep told me that comprehensive is available but, the bus must be either professionally converted, or it has to be inspected by them.

I hope this helps.
